HYTHE & DIBDEN UNDER 11's

Vs FAWLEY

Sunday 28th June

Neal READ 11	Ali BRYERS 5-8

Under 11's Beat Local Rivals Fawley And Record First Win

Hythe were put in to bat on a warm Sunday morning and soon got into their stride with Sam Kelly striking a boundary off the first ball of the innings. All the pairs added over twenty runs to the total without ever losing a wicket. A real feature was the greater confidence in the running between the wickets. Neal Reid top scored (11) with his first boundaries of the season. The only disappointment was a failure to reach 300 when our total came up short on 298 for 0.

However the real performance was still to come. Archie Gilbert and Ben Fenton both picked up two clean bowls. There were still a few too many wides conceded although when the bowling was accurate Fawley were finding runs very hard to come by off the bat. One notable performance came from Tom Ladbury who bowled two overs, both of which were maidens.

Star performance of the day was Ali Bryers, five wickets in three overs, eight runs conceded including four clean bowled. Sam Kelly taking an excellent catch to complete Ali’s five wicket haul. The boys fully deserved their win and played with real purpose. A great confidence boost with Farley to come in the cup the next day.
