| Harry SMITH 40* |
Harry Has A Blinder To Give Under 15's Surprise Win
Hythe Under 15's pulled off their first league win of the season on Sunday in a nailbiter @ Jones Lane. Harry Smith turned in an excellent personal performance with 40 not out and 3 for 7 off 4 overs.
Team Manager Sally Harding was delighted with her teams performance giving she had to borrow three lads from the Under 13 side. Sally says ' It was a great all round team performance, we were very sharp in the field, with some tight disciplined bowling and solid batting'.
Sally also says .No one can dispute Harry Smith as man of the match; 1st over was a wicket maiden!! His bowling figures were; 4 overs, 1 maiden, 7 runs & 3 wickets; he retired on 40, & took a brilliant left-handed catch off Jack Knight Owen's bowling - but It was a team effort and thanks to James Bidwell, Josh Mead and Jack Knight Owen for stepping up.
The Green Caps batted first and made 83 for 3 off their 18 overs. Smith retired on 40 not out and Matt Young made 15.
Mudeford had Ennals bowled in the first over for 0 and Hythe were on a role. Josh Mead bowled his 4 overs for just 19 runs (1-19) and Nick Shrive did even better 0-11 off 4 overs. With Harry's 3-7 off 4 Mudeford needed 17 off the last over to win, the green caps kept their nerve and seeled an excellent victory.
