MUDEFORD vs HYTHE 2nd XI
Monday 18th May
Hythe Bow Out Of Cup At The First Hurdle.
Monday evening saw Hythe's participation in the New Forest Cup Competitons end for this year as they were dumped out of the Stone Cup at the hands of South West 1 side Mudeford by 66 runs.
On a dry but blowy evening the home side batted first and rattled up a massive 142 for 4 off 18 overs, though the batsman rode their luck with 3 catches going down and the veteran umpires having a very bad evening with some astonishing decisions.
Hythe best bowler on the night Mike Edwards 1-7 off 4 though Wayne Effeny did pick up the other 3 wickets 3-19 off 3.
Hythe's reply was poor as they were restricted to 76 for 8 off 18 overs. Wayne Effeny and Ian Prentice top scoring with just 13 each.
