Support Julian Chalmers as prepares to run for the NSPCC in the London Marathon
Everyone talks about getting fit, but some people actually make the hard decisions.
Hythe Under 13's star Kieran Chalmers dad Julian Chalmers is a prime example. He doesn’t much like running but has signed up for the London Marathon, to raise money for the NSPCC. Until last May he’d never run more than five miles, but has now completed a half marathon, lost a stone, and is looking for your support.
If you would like to sponsor Julian, see the link at the bottom of the page to his personal fundraising page.
If you’re contemplating a more active life but yet to do anything about it, you should be inspired by a man who, between 2004 and 2007, endured a groin operation, a snapped Achilles tendon, Plantar Fasciitis, Sciatic Nerve trouble, Labyrinthitis, a bulged disc in lower back and whiplash from a car accident.
Now he’s on the run, raising money for a vital cause. Please help if you can.
Julian says ' I am sending this out to the In the hope that you can forward it on to the Hythe and Dibden Cricket fraternity as most of them have a vested interest in what I am doing as they all have kids or coach them etc......supporting the NSPCC. I am, for one reason or another (having got to this point running for the NSPCC is fast becoming the only reason!!) in training to run the London Marathon to raise funds for the NSPCC. I know I'm just another person running another Marathon but really, if you've never trained for one of these all I can say the sacrifice, commitment, pain, fatigue, time, despair, concern, pressure involved is way more than I ever thought BUT it really can be nothing compared to what a child in need of real help must live through! So if you are inclined I would appreciate any support that you could give me by way of sponsorship. For those who are now thinking - who the heck is this (apologies) I'm Kieran's, (better known as Cookie) Dad from the Under 13's. I know what you're now thinking - he's a bit old to be doing this sort of thing - don't worry cos that is exactly what I'm thinking sitting here with aching legs having completed another gruelling training run today (20 miles this time!). Anyway any support would be gratefully received and very much appreciated. I'll be running over 500 miles training miles (not all at once!) to make sure I'm fit enough to get myself round by the time I get onto the start line so please help me in raising funds for such a good cause'.
It's really easy - click on the link below and read brief my web page which is very straight forward. www.bmycharity.com/jogonjc
