JONJO & TOMS 8 COLTS TO WATCH OUT FOR THIS YEAR
I ASKED JONJO STOVELL AND TOM HUXLEY TWO OF OUR MOST SENIOR COLTS TO CHOOSE THEIR 8 COLTS TO LOOK OUT FOR THIS SEASON. WITH HYTHE HAVING FOUR COLTS SIDES PLAYING THIS YEAR - THE FUTURE OF THE CLUB LOOKS HEALTHY - ESPECIALLY WITH FOUR OF OUR LADS HAVING SPENT THE WINTER NETTING WITH THE NEW FOREST REPRESENTAIVE SQUADS.

Bowling Twins

Hythe's Young Sunday Bowling Pair - Tom Huxley and Jonjo Stovell

Choose Their

8 Young Guns to Look Out for this Year:

Archie Gilbert will still be with the Under 11's this year and should improve on his great efforts last year when he finished top Hythe bowler with .....wickets and an economy rate of 4.37

Alex Nicholas who was Leading Batsman for the Under 11's last season has moved upto the Under 13's this year, but that shouldn't worry him after a man of the match ----- in the Phil Pick Trophy Final last year.

Kieran Chalmers will still be with the Under 13's this year and has attended New Forest Nets during the winter. Should impress with bat and ball

Josh Mead We reckon it will be a big year for Josh in the Under 13's. Last season he impressed with a top score of 30 and a good Bowling Economy Rate of 4.52. Has the potential to top the averages this year)

Harry Smith Big year for H - who we expect to play for both the Under 15's & 17's this year as well the senior sides. Last season Harry topped the Under 15's bowling average and the Sunday Senior XI's batting Avergae including a hat-trick and a five for and a 6-25. He also made his debut for the Saturday 1st XI.

Harry's had winter training with the New Forest and Rich Froggett has been so impressed with him in nets that he's already saying that he could prove to be the best colt to come out of the Junior Section for years Chiv's been singing his praises since he had him in his Under 11's at the age of 9.

Matt Young another colt with a great Hythe future ahead we hope. Matt too will still be playing Under 15's, 17's and Hythe Sunday XI. He will also be pushing to take over from Gary as wicket keeper for the Second XI.

Last season Matt topped the Under 15's Batting Averages and played a number of games for the 2nd XI as an outfield player. He also became a regular for the Sunday Seniors - taking ---catches and scoring --- runs with a highest score of ----.

Todd Powell - Whose looking good in the nets and looks like he could be one of the best bowlers this year for the Under 15's. We feel he should be playing regularly on Sunday as well. Todd is the youngest player ever to play senior cricket for Hythe at ------ but never really come on after those early years. . Now he seems to have his appetite for the game back and with him shooting up in height as well could be a big asset for the club.

Ben Smith Finally our Under 17 leader for this year. One man team excelling in both Batting and Bowling in the nets, looks as though he could be heading for a 1st XI call up as well this year (if he can get the time off work)

So thats our 8 to watch in Colts Cricket this year and hopefully for some in the Seniors.

Tom & Jonjo
