NEW FOREST INDOOR LEAGUE

Result From 2nd February

Hythe 1's Spoil Leaders Lymington's 100% Record

Hythe 1's produced their best performance of the season to beat League Leaders Lymington by 4 wickets.

Lymington boasting a 100% record before the game batted first but were shot out for a dismal 76 in just 10.4 overs. Matt Howe topped the bowling with 2-18 off his 3 overs but all the bowlers did well - The fielders held onto their catches plus two run outs from Jon Weall and Richie Froggett capped an impressive display by the green caps who must have enjoyed the later start to the game.

Hythe lost James Page (7) early in the run chase but Matt Howe (19) and Mike Bowman (17*) set up the victory before Howe (who averaged 163 before the game) encountered a rare misfortune of getting out. Bowman and Richie Froggett (8*) then saw Hythe home with 15 balls to spare.

Hythe 1's have one game left in 2 weeks time against New Milton 1's, whilst Hythe 2's finish their season next week against Bashley 2's

Lymington skipper said afterwards 'strange I can't explain what happened but the following game we beat Fawley by 50 runs - so well done Hythe'
