LYMINGTON 'B' Vs HYTHE UNDER 13'S

19th June @ Hythe

Under 13's Go Through to Quarter- Finals

Hythe’s U13’s have made it through tp the Under13 Cup Quarter- Finals with a 11 run win over rivals Fawley. Coach Rich Froggett shuffled his batting order to give other people a game and 8 players managed to get a bowl.

They will now play Bashley 'B in the Quarter-Finals.

Playing at the Lymington Sports Groung Hythe lost the toss and were put into bat by their opponents. Richard Jones and Tom Smith opened the batting for Hythe but Jones (6) was bowled by Haming in the second over. Much was going to rely on the inform Kieran Chalmers coming in at 3 but he was out soon after also bowled by Haming for 1 - Hythe 11-2 off 4.

Marc Reid came in at 4 and joined Tom Smith together the lads took the score to 45 in 11overs when Smith was out for 10 bowled by Moars.

Reid continued to be the surprise package against some good Lymington bowling. He and Zac Miller upped the pace and by the 15th over had taken the score onto 63. But in the 16th over with the score on 70 Miller was bowled by Moars for 12 having put on 25 for the 4th wicket with Reid.

10 runs came off the last 2 overs and Hythe finished on a competitive 80 for 4 with Marc Reid 26* his best score for the green caps.

Hythe took to the field and needed a early wicket. Chris Griffin and Charlie Crane opened the bowling for Hythe and 17 came off the first 3 overs on a fast paced outfield. Then with the last ball of the 3rd over the breakthrough - Chris Griffin bowled Entwhistle for 10. Next over Hythe back in it as Charlie Crane has Orman caught by Chalmers for 4. Lymington 22-2.

But unfortunately thats as good as it got as Hythe put on a horror show in the field. The reliable Chalmers went for 22 off 3 and Holland continued to dominate the Hythe bowling. He retired at 30 not out but then J.Quigley took over.

Hythe had to wait till the 13th over to claim their next victim as Moors was caught 7 bowled by James Bidwell for 3 with the score on 78 for 3 needing just 3 to win. 2 overs later it was all over and Lymington 'B' had won by 7 wickets with 17 balls to spare sending Hythe's to their first defeat in three games. J.Quigley finished on 24* for the home side.
