GREAT NEWS AS WEALL COMMITS TO HYTHE.

Picture in the Leicester Evening News after Jon's hat-trick debut for Woodhouse Eaves last year

Those of you who have been to nets this season must have noticed a new face slinging down a few balls.

After placing an advert on the Hampshire League Website, and having over a dozen offers from other clubs - Jon Weall has committed himself to Hythe & Dibden for the coming season.

Jon 22 who originally comes from Poole last season played in the Leicestershire League for Premiership side Woodhouse Eaves, whilst studying at Loughborough University. Jon hit the headlines on his First XI debut, when coming on at first change he proceeded to take a hat-trick.

Jon said ' It was strange really - I'd played five or six games for the Seconds and then got the call up to the first team. I came on first change and didn't do anything for the first three overs. I then got a guy caught off the last ball of my fourth over and I started my fifth with a leg stump dismissal. The hat-trick ball was straight on middle stump so you can't ask for anything better than that. Jon also received the plaudits from Woodhouse skipper Paul Oliver who said ' Jon really did the business for us. His 9 overs turned the game'.

Lets hope Jon can make the same impact at the start of this season as Hythe try to fill the gap left by Ben Kendrick and Nardus Grobler.

Jon says he's excited to be on board and is looking forward to playing very soon.

Skipper Si Dixon thinks we have picked up a very useful bowler and is delighted to have Jon join the Club.
