COLTS REPORT 2007
It was a great achievement that Hythe put out four sides in 2007 at Under 11,13, 15 & 17 level.
The Under 17's under Gary achieved remarkable success finishing third in the league.
Financialy the Colts section pumped £2k profit into the club so financially another great year.
2008
We have recieved back our NFOC copy signed off for a 'Sports For All Grant'. We should here bacvk within 6-8 weeks if we are successful
If we are successful then the joint opportunity with Noadswood School will provide the club with fantastic netting opportunities for seniors and colts for many years to come. This will be at virtually no cost to us and will also include the use of a bowling machine.
2008 will see us run three sides at Under 11, 13 and 15's level. With limited under 17 players I request that the few we do have are given chance to progress their cricket in the senior teams such as Tom Porter andf Ben Smith.
Winter Nets have already started at Houndsdown School on Saturday afternoons from 4.30-7.30pm. Any support would be greatly appreciated. The more helpers we get then the more coaching we can give outside the nets.We had a strong turn out for two of the sides so things are looking good.
We are looking for a Under 11's manager. Steve Miller would like to help anyone who takes up the role. You would find the parents friendly and helpful on matchdays - we just need someone to get a side together and help steve on the day.
My thanks go to Gary, Sean, Kev, Steve and Wrighty for their help last year and especially to Sally who ran two sides. Without them there wouldn't be a colts section and no budding stars for the future.
