NEW MILTON Vs UNDER 13'S
Unspectacular Peformance says Coach
Coach Sally Harding summed Hythe's performance up in one word - unspectacular. The early season determination that saw the 13's put in some good performances was missing on Thursday against a decent New Milton side.
Toss Won by : NEW MILTON
New Milton - who are always strong at this level - won the toss and elected to bat first.
Sallys tactics of giving everyone a bowl doesn't always agree with most but it gives the opportunity to the younger players. Hythe used 8 bowlers as New Milton reached 100 for 4 off their 18 overs.
There were wickets for Charlie Crane, Alex Wall, Tom Smith and Alex Dean and there was another top performance behind the stumps by Matt Young who picked up a stumping and 2 catches. Todd Powell picked up the other catch.
In reply Hythe never got going - no batsman reached double fgures and Hythe dwindled behind the run rate finishing on 47 for 6 off their 18 overs. Nick Shrive top scored with 8
