PYLWELL PARK Vs HYTHE UNDER 15'S
12th June @ Pylewell Park
Under 15'S Go So Close
Hythe Under 15 side fell just 3 runs short in there quest to beat Pylewell Park on Tuesday Evening.
The home side batted first and made despite some decent bowling from Tom Dixon 1-8, but generally the Hythe bowlers were guilty of trying to force wickets instead of bowling a tighter line.
Ross Melton and the Smith brothers all took 1 wicket each whilst the skipper Ben Smith also took two catches.
Pylewell finished on 89 for 5 off their 18 overs a total Hythe were capable of getting if they performed at the top of their game.
Hythe got off to the worst possible start when they lost Sam Mead in the first over. Things didn't get better as Melton and Irvine both fell for 5. But Tom Dixon played one of the best innings played by this team this season with a fine knock of 33 not out which included 3 fours.
With Ben Smith the only other Hythe player to make double figures 11 Hythe took there score to 86 for 5 off their 18 overs just 3 runs short of what would have been an unexpected win..
