First Defeat For Seconds & Bransgore

Bashley Rydal IV Vs. Hythe & Dibden 2nd XI

at Bashley 09.06.07

Hythe 2nd XI's 100% record finally vanished at the hands of Bashley Rydal IV's on Saturday. But the disappointment was eased with the news that Bransgore II's also lost meaning that their are no teams left in the league with an unbeaten record.

All credit to Bashley though - to put out 5 teams on a Saturday and have them all play decent cricket is a great testiment to a fine club with marvellous facilities.

Hythe lost the toss and were asked to bat first

An opening stand of 37 came to an end in the 10^th over when Matt Howe was bowled for 10, Sean Tongs continued on to top score with 48 but only Mike Edwards with14 and Rich Bunce with 13 made double figures, leaving Hythe all out for 124 in 37 overs.

In reply Bashley lost five wickets in reaching their target in 36^th over to record their fourth win of the season

Hythe can make ammends on Monday evening when they take on Pylewell Park in the New Forest Cup. One bonus is that they won't have to play on a carpet again this season and shouldn't face anyone as decent as Bashley.
