UNDER 11'S Vs PAULTONS
3rd June @ Jones Lane, Hythe
Under 11’s Pummelled by Paulton’s
Hythe’s under 11’s suffered a home defeat to Paulton’s at home on Sunday 03/06 but it was a close run thing…Two evenly matched sides played out a competetive game at Jone’s Lane this Sunday but it was Paultons who took the points.
Paultons lost the toss and were inserted by Nathan on the Jones lane Astro-turf wicket and after the first 8 overs with Paultons already on 236 Hythe must have wished they batted 1st. The only Hythe successes coming in a Kieran Chalmers clean bowled and a Connor Mckell run out …. With a monster target looming Hythe staged a comback in the 2nd 8 overs Nathan clean Bowling Randell then Marc Reid repeating the feat an over later to keep Hythe in the match as the visitors finished on 248 for 4 at the close of their innings.
Missing Josh Mead Hythe sent out Kieran and Jason to get a clean start and the pair did exactly that, and although being pegged back by some tidy bowling, returned a positive score of 211 after 4 overs.
Marc and the youngster Alex Nicholas followed and although 1st year players Alex returned the Highest individual score and the pair pushed it onto 218 after 8 overs
A solid Toby Smith and new wicket keeper George Pedromon followed with orders to give us a chance and they did just that and pushing the score to 227 of 12 overs and still in the game.
Nathan and Connor followed but the left arm swing bowler J forder also returned to take Nathans wicket and the game seemed lost as the pair who averaged 20+ last season seemed to struggle against ‘A’ league bowling. Final score 230 for 3 and another loss…….
Plus points……. George Behind the stumps took a crash course before the game and performed miracles… Kieran bowled superbly and no wonder he plays District……They played as a team and had fun you cant ask for anything else……………well maybe a win…….
