HYTHE & DIBDEN CRICKET CLUB
UNDER 15'S Vs LYMINGTON'A'
20th May @ Hythe
THRASHING
Playing a very strong Lymington 'A' side, the Hythe Under 15's were completely outplayed in all departments and suffered a resounding 120 run defeat.
In sharp contrast to their opening game of the season, the bowlers struggled to find the right line and none of them escaped the carniage.
Sally Harding said ' The Bowlers had trouble finding the right length, facing Lymington’s usual strong batting. Batting, whilst being positive and trying to hit every thing, most players learned the hard way why the bat is the shape it is.Waffting and slashing across the line, its only a matter of time before they get bowled out. Practice the forward defensive, lads'.
Only Ross Melton came out of the game with any credit - he hit a quick fire 19 as Hythe tumbled to 55 all out. You could tell the writings on the wall when top batsman Sam Mead was run out for nought and things never got better.
One consulation is that the lads won't play a stronger side than the Lymington lads so hopefully they will put this result out of their system and move on..
