Second's Continue Fine Start With Two Wins In Two Days

Two wins in consecutive days maintain Mike Bowmens side to their 100% start.

On Friday Evening they played Sway in the New Forest Cup and come away with a 34 run win and followed that up with a 4 wicket win over Lymington III's in the League. Games are coming thick and fast but what it does it allows the Under 17's to taste senior cup cricket.

Lymington won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch again proved to be low and slow making run scoring difficult but the accuracy of Mike Edwards (12 overs 3 for 13) and the movement through the air and off the pitch from Rich Bunce (9 overs 0 for 32) meant that progress was slow and it was inevitable that the Lymington batsmen would have to take risks to set a target.This played into the hands of Ian White who continued where his spin twin Pete Stevens had left off last week by bowling 7 overs taking 4 for 12 and with one wicket each for Steve Miller and Wayne Effeny plus a run out by Sean Tongs Lymington were all out for 90 runs off 38 overs.

In reply Hythe stuttered to their target in 30 overs losing 6 wickets, Wayne Effeny top scoring with 27 not out. Á workman like performance in difficult conditions producing another victory.
