SPORTS CLUB AGM - Monday 5th March.
The Sports Club AGM kicked off with the expected resignation of Chairman Ian Kenworthy.
Ian who had already resigned as Chairman of the Cricket Section was quick to pint out that the two sections were running well on their own and the main reason you needed a Chairamn of the Sports Section was to bring the two clubs together 2-3 times a year.
It was then decided that Tony Wood ( Cricket Chairman ) & Robbie Parson ( Football Chairman ) would communicate together with the Treasurer ( Tony Woodhouse ) & President (Brian Marwood ) so no new Sport Section Chairman was required.
NEW BUILDING WORK
The Football Section has brought all its home fixtures forward to March so that they can start work on developments in the Clubhouse. Wessex League requirements state that their must now be seperate showers for home and away teams and that the referees must also have a seperate shower facility.
As of April Robbie, Dave Cox and a working party will start on gutting the back areas of both changing rooms, The referee's room, the showers and Tongsy's cupboard to make bigger changing facilities, toilets and a seperate referees facility.
They also plan to knock out the ladies toilets and build an externsion onto the bar.
Robbie's estimate of this is around the £3k mark and he asked the Cricket Section to approve the funding from the Sports Club Funds which was accepted.
A lot of the equipment is being collected from donations and if anyone has the skills to help, materials that could be useful, or special rates at DIY shops then please let Robbie know because it will reduce the costs greatly.
OTHER POINTS
Whits asked the football committee in support of their clubhouse plan, that as we have the HCL Grounds Committee monitoring pitches that the footballers stop all training and warm-ups on the cricket outfield.
Robbie Parsons and Dave Cox agreed to this and will speak with the Managers and Players.
