MINUTES OF THE AGM
held in THE CLUBHOUSE, JONES LANE, HYTHE
on 29th January 2007.
1.Those present Ian Kenworthy, Tony Woodhouse, Terry Dole, Steve Chiverton, Luke Mills, Simon Dixon, Gary & Ann Howe, Steve Miller, Kev James, Al Taylor, Rob James, Ritchie Froggett, Dave Guymer, Ewan Bell, Mike Bowman, Ian White, Sally Harding.
2. Apologies Matt Howe, Paul Whitlock, Rich Bunce, Simon Wright.
3. Minutes from last AGM accepted.
4. Chairman’s Report: The football and cricket sections are running independently financially and this is working well. The gap between the two Saturday league sides is still too big and this will only be solved by the 2nd team getting promotion. The colts now filtering through into the adult sides is a good thing. Ian has decided to stand down as chairman for several reasons, work pressures, an increasing link with Highfield CC and he feels that the club would be better chaired by someone who has more enthusiasm for the position, rather than allowing things just to tick over.
5. Treasurer’s Report: £1017.65 in bank at the moment, although there are concerns over the over spend of about £1000 on the Presentation Evening, which has dug a large hole in the finances.
A proposal to keep subscriptions the same, £30 for adult member, rising to £40 if not paid before 1/6/2007, £15 for colts, match fees will stay at £5 for adults, £3.50 for colt playing in adult match and £1 for colts games. This was passed.
A second proposal was made to have an Associate Cricket Membership, as a social membership to the cricket club from 1/5/2007 to 31/8/2007 at a cost of £5. This was passed.
6. First Team Captain’s report: Will be placed on the website once typed
7. Second Team Captain’s Report: Will be placed on the website once typed
8. Sunday Captain’s Report: Will be placed on the website once typed
9. Colt’s Report: not available but all the sides did very well last season and in 2007 we will be again running four sides. At the present time all sides look healthy for players which is a big plus. Richie thanked Gary, and Sally for their help in running colts teams.

Mower need servicing, the out field needs some work as the footballers have been training on the out field. Nearer to the start of the season the groundsmen will need some help. We also need to ask the footballers to keep of the square. There is only one football match scheduled for April. The footballers also need to improve the facilities for the league that they are playing in and this means that they need to add a portacabin beside the clubhouse and this is due to happen at some time during the summer.
* An Open Letter to the Committee and Attendees of the AGM
Letter read by Ian Kenworthy -
Well here we are again - a New Year and a new season to look forward to - a great club spirit, a thriving colts section and hopefully some decent weather - lets leave the England team out of this.
A club like Hythe & Dibden Cricket Club is dependent on having a group of loyal players who are willin got turn out season after season , despite hiccups and fallings out and gripes about decisions, etc, etc. You know that they will be there year in, year out supporting the club, although new blood is always necessary.
However, there is a group of people whitout whom the club would not be able to function properly - the female volunteer help - those who do the jobs outside of the actual cricket bit -scoring, making the teas, manning the bar from time to time - and we have a small request - it has become increasingly noticable that the ' club room' banter can sometimes take on a tone that is at the least embarrasing and at the worse downright offensive.
This is not about using bad language - this is a sports club and although it might be a bit strong sometimes I suppose its become accepted. This is more about topics of conversation - whilts it must be extremely funny to recount the latest sexual conquest to your mates, please try and contain the most gory details and the most colourful languages to times when your female 'helpers' are out of earshot, just try and be a bit more considerate to the people around you.
Despite what some of my friends and relatives might think I love the cricket season, I like what we have as a close knit club, a group of friends to sit around and have a drink and chat with - a family atmosphere that people feel comfortable bringing their children into. I also appreciate that the club is not run for us - it's run for the teams and thatb is the reason everyone is there - but please don't jeopardise the great club we've got by driving away some people you depend on.
Other Points
* It was decide to enter sides in the Presidents Cup and the New Forest Cup
* It was suggest that some thought should go into the possibility of a third side, due to the number of colts who will want to play adult cricket.
* Gary to talk to Paul re League Handbook and Cricket ball order
* Simon Dixon and Rob James to attend Hampshire League AGM
* It was agreed to buy some new numbers for the scoreboard
* Club to contribute towards coaching courses if anyone wishes to take coaching certificates. Also there is some funding available from NFDC.

* The auditor for the sports club and cricket club has been lost, it was agreed to ask him if he would just do the audit for the cricket club.
* Tony and his daughter are no longer doing the cleaning and beer orders, it was agreed to continue with the cleaner the football club are using and to ask order the beer through Ness Cox.
