Toss Won by : Hythe
Hythe won the toss and Mike Bowman elected to field first.
The Camelot openers got off to a steady start with 20 coming off the first 6 overs. But then with the score on 22 they lost 2 wickets for 1 run. Both Mike Bowman coming down the hill and Tim Bath were bowling very tidely and not giving much away.
Camelot's fifty came up in the 13th over for the loss of 2 wickets then a thirty partnership between W.Arora 33 and A.Simpson 33 improved things for the visitors.
But as they were looking to get settled Bowman claimed the wicket of Aurora and Camelot were 53 for 3. Soon after they were four down as Bath also claimed his second wicket - 64 for 4.
Camelot continued to score at almost four an over and whilst Simpson and Broomfield 19 were at the crease 200 was a possible target.
Bath finished his spell of bowling at 12-3-50-2 a commendable effort whilst the skippers was even better 10-2-34-2. At the half way stage the visitors were 78 for 4 off 21 overs.
With the absence of Rich Bunce, Steve Miller was given the opportunity to bowl a good spell and he duly oblieged from the top end. With Chalky White coming up the hill they made inroads into the Camelots batting as the visitors tried to up the pace.Apart from Royal 21 all the other batsman got themselves out cheaply and Camleot went from 100 for 4 to 155 all out.
Steve Miller finished with figures of 8.3-1-40-3 his best in the league for some time whilst the wiley old fox White claimed another 3 wickets finishing with 7-1-29-3.
The Hythe opening Partnership of Sean Tongs and Matt Howe waisted no time in going for the runs. They scored 30 off the first 5 overs, 50 off the first 10and 70 off the first 15.
All the Camelot bowlers suffered and the fielders struggled to fill all the gaps in the out field as both players sprayed the ball around the park.
Matt Howe reached his 50 first to complete an excellent first season as a opening bat. Next over Tongs reached his fifty to cap off a fine season.
At 20 overs the pair were at 104 for 0 and coasting. Hythe reached their target in the 27th over with Tongs finishing on 71 not out and Howe 76 not out. Both players innings included 8 fours.
A 10 wicket win a great way to finish off a fine season for Mike Bowmans men.
