HYTHE 2nd XI Vs BURLEY II
Seconds Back To Winning Ways
Whilst many of the games in the County were called of because of the weather including the First XI, Hythe Seconds bounced back from last weeks disappointment to beat Burley by 3 wickets.
Toss Won by : Burley
Burley won the toss and on a damp pitch surprisingly opted to bat first.
Hythe were distinctly flat after last weeks defeat but with some good accurate bowling and ground fielding Burley were restricted to 140 for 5 from their 42 overs, more wickets could have been taken if all the catches offered had been accepted but those that were held were by Russell Moore, Ian White, Gary Howe and Sean Tongs(2).
In reply Hythe batted much more positively keeping well ahead of the required rate, with five batsmen scoring in the twenties but no one being able to go on and make a big score. Hythe finally reaching the victory target in the 36th over for the loss of 7 wickets.
