HYTHE & DIBDEN COLTS CRICKET
UNDER 17's Vs REDLYNCH & HALE
27th July
We May Have Not Won The League But No Club Side Has A Better Record For Consecutive Games.
Hythe Under 17's completed their league season last night at Redlynch & Hale and also made it two seasons without having a game cancelled - a quite remarkable record.
Toss Won by : Hythe
Russell Moore won the toss and Hythe elected to bat.
A steady start by Russell Moore and Tom Porter came to an end in the fourth over when Porter smashed a long hop straight to a fielder for 8.
Moore finally fell LBW for a patient 17 in the 12th over with 48 on the board. Then Matt Howe and James Page accelerated the scoring until Howe retired on 50 in the 17th over leaving Rich Last to hit a boundary and James Page falling to the last ball of the innings trying to do the same, leaving Hythe on 95 for 3 after their eighteen overs.
In reply the Redlynch openers took the bowling apart and in the onslaught Hythe’s fielding which has been good recently fell apart. The two wickets fell with the score on 82 and 84 when James Page took a good catch on the boundary from Richard Last’s bowling to be followed by a stumping from Matt Howe off a wide bowled by Ben Smith. Redlynch reached their target in the ninth over for an eight wicket victory.
