SUNDAY XI Vs ROBINS

HYTHE GIVE OUT DRUBBING IN DOUBLE QUICK TIME

With both fixtures on Saturday postponed because of the weather, Hythe fielded an experienced side on Sunday against Robins.

Robins new of this prior to the match but still decided to bat first.

With everyone fresh Hythe soon showed their superiority with the ball and in the field.

The two openers picked up three wickets in the first 10 overs with Guymer 2-12 and Miller 1-17.

Hythe then introduced their slower pace bowlers who basically killed the game by picking up 6 wickets between them in a 20 overs spell.

Punchey Mills took 2-26 off his 10 whilst Robbie James at the other end took 4-21 off his 10.

Richard Last came on at the end to snap up the final wicket 1-16 off 2.2 and Robins were all out for 105.

The bowlers were supported by some good fielding and catches were taken by L.Mills 2, Matt Howe 2, and Dave Guymer.

Hythe waisted no time in chasing the runs though they lost Sean Tongs early, caught off the bowling of Conway for 1.

Mike Bowman and Nardus Grobler then joined forces for the first time since their record stand on tour.

The two started to pile on the runs before Grobler was run out for 22.

Russell Moore didn't last long out for 2 and when Bowman was out for 31 you wondered if their was going to be a late collapse.

But a quick fire 27 from Steve Miller well supported by Ewan Bell 18* took Hythe very close to victory before Hythe lost their 5th wicket in Miller.

Bell and Matt Howe 5* saw Hythe home by 5 wickets in only the 25th over.
