ITS BAD ENOUGH FACING THESE STRONG SIDES WITH ELEVEN PLAYERS BUT WHEN YOU HAVE TWO LATE WITHDRAWELS PLAYING WITH NINE AND TRING TO COVER THE GAPS IN THE FIELD IS IMPOSSIBLE. LANGLEY MANOR BATTED FIRST AND SCORED 167 FOR 3.RUSSELL MOORE TOOK 2 WKTS. IN REPLY HYTHE SCORED 60 FOR 5.MATT HOWE SCORED 28

UNDER 17's Vs LANGLEY MANOR

20th July

Langley Manor too strong for nine man Hythe

Langley Manor won the toss and on a hot evening chose to bat against a nine man Hythe team which had suffered from two late withdrawals. Hythe did not bowl or field badly as only two bowling extras were conceded but with the long handle being taken from the off and losing four balls into various hedges and gardens the Langley team slogged a score of 167 for 3. All three wickets falling to catches one each for Ben Smith, Russell Moore and Matt Howe.

In reply the batting order was again altered to try to give a bat to those who did not get a long knock last week. However this does result in a very slow scoring rate and Hythe eventually completed their innings on 60 for 5 with Matt Howe top scoring with 28. Langley winning by 107 runs.
