HYTHE UNDER 13's COMPLETED THEIR SEASON WITH A 61 RUN DEFEAT AT THE HANDS OF BASHLEY RYDAL. WE ARE NEVER GOING TO BE AS STRONG AS THE BASHLEYS, B.A.T'S AND THE LYMINGTONS BUT THE LADS HAVE COME A LONG WAY THIS SEASON AND HOPEFULLY WITH WINTER COACHING NEXT SEASON THEY WILL IMPROVE EVEN MORE.

HYTHE & DIBDEN COLTS CRICKET

13th July - UNDER 13'S Vs BASHLEY RYDAL

The Under 13's completed their league season with a 61 run defeat at the hands of Bashley.

Chasing 112 to win only Matt Young 17 showed any grit fight and Hythe finished on 50 for 7.

But well done to Sally for keeping the team going and certainly several of the lads have improved throughout the season.

Onr thing for sure is that as a squad they are one of the nicest teams in the league. The Langely Manor Umpire made this comment during the match in June.

Toss Won by : Hythe

So the last game of the season and Hythe were in for a difficult match against a much more experienced Bashley Rydal.

Sam Mead won the toss and elected to bat field first.

Hythe got off to the very best of starts when Harry Smith bowled Banks with the first ball of the match.

But Davis joined Ansty and the pair put on a crucial partnership of 75 in just 13 overs.

Harry Smith bowled well 4-0-11-1 supported by Todd Powell 4-0-21-0 but the rest struggled to find the right line and length.

Both Ansty 31* and Davis 32* retired after reaching thrity and straight away Hythe got their second wicket when Tom Richards caught and bowled Day for 0. Hythe got another wicket in the 17th over when Ashby was run out for 10.

Bashley finished on 111 for 3 off their alloted 18 overs a total that could have been lower for Hythe to chase but for 13 wides.

In reply Hythe too got off to a poor start when Sam Mead was bowled by Bantock for 0. Todd Powell followed in the next over and Hythe were 3 for 2.

Matt Young looked in determined mood as wickets fell around him. J.King 7, J.Stovell 2 both fell quickly and Hythe were in trouble at 22 for 4 off 8.

Young was then run out for 17 and Huxley 0, and Richards 1 didn't last long. At the end Hythe finished on 50 for 7 with Wall 0 and Peters 4 the not out batsman.

Bashly had run away victors by 61 Runs.
