HYTHE & DIBDEN COLTS CRICKET
6th July - UNDER 13'S Vs LYMINGTON 'B'
UNDER 13's WIN FIRST GAME IN STYLE
It was a long wait but when they finally did it they won in style - 10 wickets.
Well done lads.
Toss Won by : Hythe
This match was reduced to 14 overs a side because of fading light and a delayed start because of showers.
Hythe won the toss and elected to field first.
With conditions slippery under foot coach Sally Harding told her bowlers to cut down on their run ups and concentrate on line and length. Maybe it should rain mope often as only 3 wides were bowled.
The Hythe bowlers bowled accurately and with some good fielding which included two run outs they reduced Lymington 'B' to 61 for 5 off their 14 overs.
Pick of the bowlers P.Patel who went for just 4 runs off his 2 overs and also claimed a wicket.
Harry Smith also did well bowling 4 overs for just 16 runs.
What a chance to gain their first win and Harry Smith and Matt Young waisted no time in chasing after the runs.
Smith scored 27* and Young 31* as Hythe got home in just 12 overs and the bonus by 10 wickets.
Not many teams even the big guns Lymington 'A' and B.A.T acheive winning by 10 wickets very often.
