That pitch was in remarkable condition considering the downpour which suggested we were in for anything but a running game.
The home side were short of a number of regulars but stuck at it, while we threw the ball around at every opportunbity and produced some superb handling to defy the elements.
It began from the kick off when Gavin Painter threw the ball oiut left where Eldon Myers burst through the defensive line to go in under the posts.
Peter Youll increased thelead when he was first to a dropped ball on the home 22 and he judged his hack to perfection to set up another easy conversion.
Scott Butcher was next to costs as he came off his wing to take a reverse pass from Gav Painter who was having a field day including with his goalkicking.
We did not ease up even with Liam Bailey in the bin and when he came back to score Stu Waites had to take the conversion because Gav had also been given the yellow card. Waites was just as accurate and with less than half an hour gone we were 28-0 up.
The forwards continued to dominate the set peice and Owen Bennett was the beneficiary of two push over tries in the right hand corner to give us an unassailable lead.
The margin was increased shortly after the restart when Gav Painter again provided the space for Butcher to cosss the line and race under the posts.
All of the repalcements were given decent game time with Zac Southern scoring with his first touch as he finished off a move by sliding over in the corner. Painter again converting from way out on the left.
The finishing touches were provided by two of the other replacements. First Joe Rafferty poowerfed over from five metres followed by Michael Hogan who was returning from injury.
The challenge now is to keep up this level of handling, pace and power in the league games to come.
