Sam Miller got only try but we really should have had three or four more before Old Crocs hit us with a sucker punch with the last move of the game ...

Wet were left to rue wasting a handful of golden opportunities  but at least the two points means we will finish the league in third place

We did not start well  and Old Crocs were awarded a series of penalties which saw winger Gareth Sweeney put his side ahead on eight minutes, after Jonny Boatman was penalised by referee Mr Malpas for backchat. He then added another on 22 minutes after we were caught offside in front of our posts.

Wet finally got their game together and should have scored the first try of the game just before the half hour.

Owen Bennett rose to take a great line-out ball ten metres out and Stu Waites took the opportunity of the quick ball to burst through.

He was right under the posts whe he was tackled and opted to pop the ball up for the supporting Peter Hodgson but somehow it went forward.

It was a rallying call and as we mounted pressure on the home line Crocs infringed on several occasions. They managed to avoid giving away a penalty try and they escaped again right on the break when we strangely opted for a quick tap penalty.

The scrum had been working well, and the decisions seemed to take the rest of the pack by surprise with the result that Ian Pinchen found himself isolated.

The result was a  penalty which allowed Crocs to finally clear.

Wet did finally get on the score sheet one minute into the second half with Stu Waites slotting a penalty from 25 metres. He added a second on 50 minutes as the visitors continued to build the pressure which eventually saw Sam Miller powering his way over from ten metres.

Waites converted and at 13-6 it looked to be a case of how many more times would we get over the whitewash, with Crocs confined to only one meaningful visit to our half .

Whenever we got the ball out wide we looked dangerous, and winger Kyle Jamieson was only kept out by a desperate last ditch tackle in the corner by full back James Wainwright.

Colin Cheslin had come inytpo the line to send the  youngster clea and  he himself did cross the line five minutes later as we created a two man overlap on the left.

Unfortunately, the full back’s eagerness to seize the opportunity was his undoing as Mr Malpas ruled that the final pass from Peter Youll had been forward.

Dan Boatman and In Pinchen both went close  but the score eluded us and with the clock ticking down Old Crocs finally mounted some pressure in our 22.

They ran several penalties and eventually created the space for Neil Richardson to gratefully crash over and add the conversion himself which levelled the scores.
