In the first quarter the visitors looked the more likely side, but once Iain Dixon pounced for the first of his tries the West backs seized on every opportunity to run in scores - many from the half way line.
Aaron Myers, Colin Cheslin and Andrew Cheslin all got on the score sheet in the first half to make it 24-0 at the break.
Morpeth plugged away up front with some success - but as soon as a move broke down the likes of Colin Cheslin and second half replacement Gareth Kerr swooped to set up tries.
Jonny Boatman was the first beneficiary on 45 minutes, followed by Iain Dixon's second after Kerr hacked ahead from the half way line. Tom Dixon was superbly placed to take a smart Colin Cheslin pass to go in under the posts, and then second row replacement Phil Henderson galloped in from 40 metres after Colin Cheslin had kicked through. Iain Dixon got his hat trick with another smart move set up by an Andrew Cheslin break.
Having a game at all was a major bonus ahead of the league fixture next week. Both Middlesbrough and Westoe had people watching and will have been impressed by the finishing of the West backs.
Up front the coaches gave extensive run-outs to Adam Cioates and John Greenwell with Henderdsson and Garside also figuring.
