Great Lumley Methodist Church are co-operating with with a local charity (If U Care Share) to form Unified Football teams in the area. The plan is to form one or two teams and play matches at local and regional level. It's early stages but the following dates are planned:
Wednesday 19 May 2010 at 6.00pm at Lumley Junior Scool playing fields
Unified Football Trials. If you want to be considered for a team you must turn up to this event. Turning up will not guarantee you a place on a team - we expect a lot of competition for places so practice your skills and get fit!
Saturday 12 June 2010 at a time to be decided
Hopefully we will play our first real games as part of the Lumley FC 5th anniversary year celebrations. Any matches will depend on the success of the trials on 19 May.
We have plans for a 'Give it a Go' weekend in September for all kinds of learning disability sports plus unified football. On the same weekend, a special celebration service is also planned at the Methodist Church. We hope to have a bit of open air music and festivity around a BBQ.
