| POWELL HAILS NOMADS' CASH BOOST |
 CONNAH'S Quay boss Nev Powell has paid tribute to his chairman, John Gray, for keeping the Deeside outfit in the Welsh Premier.Gray made funds available for new players after the Nomads had been rooted to the bottom of the table in the early part of the season. "We never mentioned relegation but it was staring us in the face," says Powell. "Credit to the chairman for putting his hand in his pocket to help me bring in quality players like Gary Pinch, Conall Murtagh and Gary O'Toole." Quay eventually finished in 14th place, but Murtagh is believed to be a transfer target for Rhyl next season, although former Lillies' keeper Paul Smith has extended his contract at Nomads until 2008. |
