NEWI Cefn Druids’ under-18s squad had yet another successful season, with silverware to show at the end of it. They were triumphant in the Mid Wales Youth League Cup, beating Newtown 2-1, courtesy of Lee Price’s extra time winner, after Alun Williams had scored in normal time. In the league itself, the club finished as runners-up for the second season running, ending up behind Llanymynech. As well as this, the squad reached the semi-finals of both the Central Wales Youth Cup and the Steve Hughes Challenge Cup. Under-18s manager, Brian Manford, said: “It was another great season for our youth. They are all looking forward to challenging for places in the Reserve Team for next season.” |
