Hi Redd Hall. I also very much regret the loss of 'Nomads' from our name. I must admit that I had not even noticed its omission from our name in the last press release that I put on site. That is, until you pointed it out. All I can say is, that if it is the price we have to pay for us to remain the premier football club in Flintshire and for us to be able to be successful force in the Welsh Premier League in the the foreseeable future, then it's sacrifice that I am willing to make, albeit reluctantly. For as long as I remain Webmaster, 'Nomads' will certainly remain a well used 'nick-name' in stories published on this site.

I make no apology for banning blaen for the reasons I have already given. Administering a clubs official website is the relatively easy part, but policing a club message board is personally very demanding and is a time consuming non-stop process. This is probably why most Official WPL Club Websites don't provide one. blaen is only the 3rd person that I have banned in 3 years of running this message board. I have offline correspondence (by email) with regular posters who continuously arouse the hostility of other posters, in order to engage their co-operation and thus avoid banning them. Most posters listen and respond accordingly, unfortunately blaen didn't. I am sorry if you think I am losing the plot a bit, but I respect your right to say so.

Bobby Hunters short reign as Chairman coincided with a period of secrecy, mistrust, disharmony and disunity and was accompanied by a decline in the Clubs fortunes that saw us rapidly heading towards the ignomany of the lower leagues. I do know the full recent history of 'this saga' and it is a period of time that is now best left behind. We have the prospect of a club that will be run in a professional manner, provide full information and have good channels of communication with supporters. I hope we can now all work in harmony together with the club, towards a successful chapter in the history of 'Nomads'.

Bobby's lengthy contribution as the Secretary of Connah's Quay Nomads has undoubtedly been a massive one and central to the past development of the Club. For that we should all be grateful and acknowledge him as a legend in our history, along with Nev Powell as manager and Stuart Rain as a player.

Thanks for the replies. Of course, like everyone else I know a lot less than the half of it but agree that it doesn't matter and this is a fantastic opportunity to rescue and rebuild.
Sorry to seem to raise small matters. If it's conditional then fair enough. But 62 years of tradition shouldn't be ditched if there is a choice as the club didn't continue from the old ones and has always been Nomads. Also "Lilywhites" etc are nicknames not part of the title. Reference the website Wivey I'm sure its in good hands - just like to see everything inclusive.
Great to look forward to the new season in a positive mood and sure we'll always call them the Nomads.

Wandering Nomad and everyone else. I have shared your frustration about the news delays about the Clubs takeover, the new Manager, players etc. and I have been assured that a press release has been prepared today and given to the media for release over the next two days. It will provide significant details that will clearly demonstrate that the New Nomads Club is hitting the ground running.

Just to provide a taster of things to come, here is a list of pre-season friendlies that have already been arranged. I will add them to the 'Fixtures & Results' link on the website front page shortly.

Saturday 26th July away Shifnal Town 2-30 pm

Tuesday 5th August away Poulton Victoria 7-30 pm

Saturday 9th August away Flint Town United 2-30 pm

We will also have away games on the 19th July and the 22nd .

We also have visits from Winsford United and a Football League team agreed and waiting to confirm as soon as the Stadium Authorities agree the dates.
