True Nomads Supporters

Wivey, I have thought long and hard whether to get involved in this dispute as I am not a regular first team supporter. However, as someone who was brought up in the Quay, and who has had had llinks with the Nomads since the 70s either through my own interest or through family members or friends playing for them at one time or another I think you will allow my point of view.
Firstly,I consider myself to be a professional person and in all my time in Business I have never come across any other board of Directors who think it is acceptable practice to disregard the concerns or questions of its customers. This whole thread could have been alleviated if a statement had been forthcoming from the board two weeks ago. There wasnt a need to disclose information, only a requirement to state a commitment to the club and an acknowledgement of the supporters concerns. This hasnt been forthcoming hence the subsequent unrest.It is imperative that any company CEO has the best interests of his company and his customers at heart. Communication is the key to this. It does appear that Mr Hunter has fogotten or is unaware of this basic rule. It is truly sad that through lack of awarenesss of this fact, there is a very real possibility of the whole club or its supporter base folding. There feels to me to be a very strong base of fans who do a great deal for the good of the Nomads. This is demonstrated on this website. I do feel however that the postings by Blaen are at best misguided and at worst trying to induce as much acrimony as is possible. They remind me of Joey in an episode of Friends where he is trying to impress someone with his superior knowledge, and Ross introduces him to a Thesaurus. Joey proceeds to write a letter with as many impressive words as he can find. Unfortunately when they are all strung together they make little sense....

reserves supporter, like all Nomads supporters your contribution to this message board and particularly to this thread is very welcome. The more supporters that post and say what they honestly think, the better. The Welsh Premier League requires all clubs to have a website and also recommends that a fans forum such as this is provided, so that member clubs can hear and respond to what its supporters are saying. If you don't say they can't repond, if you do say and they don't respond, it's resonable to assume that they don't care

I have to agree with you that blaens contribution is increasingly unconstructive inso far as he is resorting to attacking other posters, rather than arguing or expressing his own viewpoint with more clarity.

My own viewpoint is increasingly clear, Mr Hunter is rapidly demonstrating that he is a vindictive dictator and a luddite and I think that the future of Nomads is very bleak, left in his hands. I also fear for the future of our excellent Reserve Team with the inevitable reduced budget that he is likely to conjure up. Even worse, the premature elevation of our young Reserve players to the WPL, it's a mean tough league and that could easily destroy their confidence as players.

(Definition of Luddite:-Any opponent of technological progress - one of the 19th century English workmen who destroyed labour saving machinery that they thought would cause them unemployment)

GAP Queens Park - GAP Connahs Quay Nomads, are they collecting football teams with athletics Stadiums by any chance ? Will they own us too ?

John Roberts has sent an email to the website, saying goodbye to the Nomads players. The story is under "Managers News Update" on the front page of the site.

That's extremely rich coming from someone who's best suggestion for upping the gates was for Bungle to get changed and play a gig during half time.........the mind boggles !

I have never promised to triple the gates - however QP did indeed intend on setting a new web site up and that's still in the pipeline (CQNFC.co.uk), however at that time, all the efforts of myself, QP, Mr J Gray, Mr D Brock and the late Mr B Morris were scuppered by your beloved Mr Hunter. His reason given as 'it will never have board consent'.

Exactly one week ago the same excuse was given to me by the same individual at a meeting after I suggested a meeting with the college board in an effort to reduce costs.

In quoting the remarks directed at yourself by Mr Hunter, I merely stated a fact and the fact is that he made those remarks in front of others.............incidentally, upon refering to you as a fruitcake, Mr Hunter then went on to say that he did not want you near CQN FC...........can't knock him for that I suppose.

Give it up man, the sloping pitch behind the Halfway House is long gone and we simply have to move on or get left behind in the lower leagues.

Tin Tin, if earlier posts on this thread have any truth in them, potential investors in this club could be reading the thread to find out what we, the fans think. I have re-read the thread, since blaen removed his contributions and the unity between the rest of the posters is now very evident. Can you leave him out from now on please, the thread topic is too important to be obscured by his deviations. Posters who want to read aryblaen can use the link on the front page.

So much damage has already been caused to the club by recent bad decisions and the lack of information about what is happening is completely unacceptable. As supporters it's your club too and it can't continue with out you! Supporters are the lifeblood of any club and I for one, won't be satisfied to watch us slip quietly out of the Welsh Premier League next season. We need someone at the helm who can attract investment and unify the club quickly.

I urge all supporters to say what you think and want for the future now, because in three months time we will get whatever we deserve by remaining silent.

Thank you wivey. It would have been 'over the top' to hit the 'report abuse' button as that goes directly to the hosts and might have hurt this website. Nobody minds a bit of leg-pulling but I think it was getting a bit beyond that and I look forward to joining in any sensible discussion that now evolves.

blaen, as you know from our recent email exchange, I had just finished writing the following post to you when you sensibly deleted all your previous posts.

"blaen, I regret that I have finally lost patience with your frequent provocative "double entendre" that have been directed at most other posters and now finally me (questioning whether I should put the departing managers reply to the news of his dismissal on this site.) If this site wasn't providing information, nobody would know anything about what is happening at Nomads, whether good or bad, because the club isn't communicating. I don't make the news, I only report it. If the news gets better, I will report that too. I have deleted your last post accordingly".

I certainly don't need your advice about abuse and what is or is not acceptable, as it is a subject in which I am vastly experienced and highly professionally qualified.

Any future posts from you that are off topic or that I deem provocative to other posters, will be deleted and if you persist you will be banned.

I have read all this news with interest and my last post said it would be a disaster if Jim Hackett and the staff were dismissed. As this is now a reality, what is happening now both on and off the pitch?

There has been the following 'knowledge' on the board - are these true?

1. GAP are to come in and 'save the day' financially

2. Andy Lee has been offered the manager's job.

There has been a silence of more than usual proportions while in the meantime we as supporters argue amongst ourselves about non important matters.

So..... what is happening? I thought I would try and get our minds back on the important stuff guys sorry! Let's start with thoughts on these two!

In response to your post directly, I think it's true that GAP are showing interest in investing in Nomads and I also think that it probably true that the Managers job was offered by Bobby Hunter to Andy Lee. I say think, because they are still in the realm of rumours, in the absence of any statement from Bobby Hunter/the club.

Just for the record, I have never published stories on this website unless they come:-

1. Directly from the Club eg. Bobby Hunter, Jim Hackett when he was Manager and the various coaches while they were all still in post.
2. From the media/press.
3. Directly from sources that I know to be accurate and reliable and with their consent. As in all the recent stories concerning Bungle, John Gray, Jim Hacketts dismissal and response and the departing coaches etc.

The way things are at the moment, it is most likely that the next significant news stories will be published on this site first from trustworthy sources, and not from Bobby Hunter (The Clubs Media Officer). I will continue to do my best to keep you fully informed.

On a lighter note, I was doing a web-search on John Gray/Nomads when I came across this. It somehow seems relevant to our current situation.

I am hoping and beginning to allow myself to think that there is light at the end of the tunnel, for Nomads. We just need to somehow maintain and repair our foundations at the same time as seeking new pastures.

Sorry to dim the light for you mate, but in business circles it is well documented that 'no news' is indeed 'bad news'.

It will be difficult to repair foundations, what with the recent rent increase imposed by the college.........and by 'new pastures' I hope that you are not refering to the dock road stadium, because Mr Hunter has put that on the back burner for a minimum of 5 years.

IMHO, the lack of communication from the current Chairman/Vice Chairman/Secretary/Treasurer/Media Officer is down to more than one reason and I doubt very much that the internet features anywhere at all amongst Mr Hunters list of priorities.

Could we add 'technophobe' to Mr Hunters long list of shortcomings ?

Luditte is the word that comes to my mind. Maybe I am just an eternal optimist, because after Jim Hackett turned up and performed the Miracle last season, I can't help believing in "devine intervention" It's a matter of somehow keeping up the faith in Nomads. Surely there is a fairy godmother out there somewhere, who will remove the obsticles and provide the sustinance. (maybe I should become a monk, instead of running this website - there is a future for me then :oD:oD)
