Re: Planning for next season???

All this speculation doesn't seem to be getting anywhere - maybe none of the Board have the internet? This lack of info is a massive gap in the club set-up. In my opinion Jim Hackett realised the enormity of the task last year and made sure of vital early points before the better teams caught up. The addition of more points later, amidst some dismal showings, ensured he achieved his objective - survival - job done. He would have learnt a lot personally also, ready for the future. The players always looked motivated and put in great effort even when outclassed. Now instead of building on that knowledge and using last season as a springboard, unbelievably the club has decided to tear it all up , creating another mountain to climb. Despite the low gates there was a feeling that the fan base was strong and could grow but no info is forthcoming. It's amazing that none of the posters have heard a whisper or admit to knowing anything , which makes it all an unbelievably well-kept secret especially now that Jim knows his fate. Fancy sacking a bloke on his holiday! Then we have a club urgently in need of MORE financial support chopping off an invaluable source of funds, expertise and help. Undoubtedly no good can be imagined in all this, but until more is known, it's not on to personally criticise a long term servant of the club.
I wonder will the League be taking an interest in all this?

Redd Hall, I think criticism and even severe criticism of Bobby Hunter is perfectly valid. He is failing as the Clubs Media Officer and Chairman to provide the media or Supporters with even basic information about what his intentions for the future are. Yet he is forging ahead making personal decisions without giving reasons or explanation and has treated Jim Hackett, John Gray and others including me, with total disrespect.

I do agree with you that personal abuse is not necessary or appropriate and I can assure you that the League is taking interest as they have just published the news of Jim Hacketts sacking on their website. I have added it to the front page story.

Wivey .
Apologies, it should have read "it's not on to personally insult" not "criticise". I agree that critisism is valid given the known facts.

Redd Hall,

I'm assuming that your comment regarding the criticism of 'a long term servant' was directed at me?.........if not then I opologise in advance.

I can assure you that I regard this matter as a very serious one, also that my remarks are not unfounded, for I have recently been on the receiving end of Mr Hunter's vindictive campaign to clear out the new and bring in the old............having been forced into a corner and openly rejected at a meeting in the company of others, left me bewildered and wondering why this man continues to bite the hand that feeds him.

I will be the first to agree that over the years Mr Hunter has been a most excellent servant of the club, but that does not excuse him for the lack of respect and common courtesy shown to others.............IMHO Mr Hunter should not be looking a gift horse in the mouth and I would have thought that he could use all the help he can get under the present circumstances.

Of late, Bobby Hunter has quoted the club motto 'No one man will ever own CQN FC' to me on more than one occasion...........maybe it is time for him to practice what he has been preaching because from where I'm standing, it looks pretty much like HE alone is hell bent on controlling everything.

Maybe I'm way off base with all this, could it be that someone else is pulling his strings?...........an ex-Nomad holding a grudge perhaps?.......only time will tell. who knows what else BH has got up his sleeve, not Blaen - thats for sure !

I dont know how accurate this information is but I have the following down as Directors or such of CONNAHS QUAY NOMADS FOOTBALL CLUB LIMITED - Brian Morris, Geoffrey Thelwell, John Gray, Vernon Kindlin, David Brock, Richard Clive Hallows, Robert Hunter - info may not be fully up to date

chocolate, Directors Brian Morris and Geoffrey Thelwell both passed away over the last 9 months, as did former Director Ron Morris. John Gray and David Brock have resigned from the board.

I understand a new director may well have been appointed over the last two weeks, but as with all things Connah's Quay Nomads, this remains unconfirmed by the Media Officer/Chairman/Secretary

.... and i also hope that when Jim "The Hatchet" does get back, that Mr Hunter has the cahooonies to actually speak to him face to face rather than being such an invertebrate and doing it over the phone whilst he is on holiday...

Jim is gonna get ya!!

From aryblaen website:-

"It seems to have been overlooked by many that Mr. Hackett's initial contract was for one year only and that he has previously made it known that he had other long term plans in place at the time of his appointment"

Blaen, I am reliably informed that Jim Hackett wasn't on a contract. I think you are being used and mislead because the information you are being fed is inaccurate and selective. During the last telephone phone call I had from Bobby Hunter, after the away game at Caersws and before he added the Chairmans role to his ever growing collection, he was abusive and threatening towards me, Jim Hackett and You!

I was left feeling hurt and shocked and under normal circumstances I wouldn't be revealing such information, but what is happening to Connah's Quay Nomads under Mr Hunters stewardship is anything but normal and anyone who bullies and intimidates people who are doing their best to help the club, needs exposing.

Blaen, you are very fortunate to have constant dialogue with the chairman of the club seeing as how he can't be bothered to speak to anyone else, are you now his official spokesman.

I was under the same impression as wivey that Jim wasn't under contract with the club and when he was appointed Bobby Hunters words were along the lines of him being the best man for the job, so whether he had other long term plans or not you'd have thought that he should have been asked whether he was prepared to stay or not unless it became personal.

For your information I sponsored one of the players last season and was offered an invoice if I wanted one, (which I didn't), and I happen to know that the people who had the kids on the pitch at the last couple of home matches were all crb checked and insured, they also made up a large proportion of the crowd figures, so you'll have to find something else to get your wooden spoon into. Your beginning to come across as that little bloke from the austin powers films, 'mini me' I think his name was. Do us a favour and provide facts when you want to start balls rolling, as I've said before your a mischief maker and when it's you and Bobby left on this sinking ship you'll have brought it all on yourself. Take an objective view of whats happening, don't just listen to your new best friend who, as wivey suggests was abusive and threatening towards you not long back.

Hi Counting Crows, nice to hear from you. Thanks for your encouragement!

We've already had one miracle when Jim Hackett started from nothing and managed to build enough to keep us in the Welsh Premiership. Now we have a Captain at the helm who is eliminating all opposition and knocking gaping holes in the ship and we are sinking fast towards the Cymru Alliance. We certainly need some more devine intervention soon and fast!

I hope you have a better season next season, than the last two. it would be nice to see you back up there again.

Cheers Mate !

Blaen,

The details regarding our companys sponsorship of Wes and indeed the Football in the Community is NONE of your business whatsoever.

I dont know what youre intentions are or what you are getting at but I strongly suggest you keep your nose well out of our affairs and matters that dont, and never will concern you.

Heed my advice and be EXTREMELY careful about relaying things you are told as you will not only end up with egg on your face but you will needlessly and irrevocably upset people in the process.

Tin tin,
No not at all. I was referring to personal insults for which the poster has already been reprimanded by the webmaster. I understand and sympathise with all the reactions from everyone on here. It's hard to imagine a bigger heap of s... than this current mess.

As a new convert to CQN i feel that Mr Hackett has not been given a fair chance to build on what turned out to be a fairly successful season. I believe that the self appointed chairman is very blinkered in his outlook and unless he has a top manager and sponsor lined up i cannot see the logic in his actions.
I sponsored a player last year and was looking to do the same and maybe more for the coming season, but that was all dependent on Jim being at the helm.
Now i will take my money and invest in some Hamlet cigars for the self appointed chairmen (Rab C Lookalike) to smoke in his photobooth with his mates.

blaen, it is a shame to watch you ploughing on and digging the hole deeper. I know you have tried to do lots of things for Nomads without much appreciation in the past and that your heart is in the right place, but it's a shame that your head is up Bobby Hunters a**e, because once the hole your digging is deep enough and he is sure your at the bottom, he will surely fill it in.

You have sabotaged this thread with red herrings, innuendo and half truths virtually since it started. Whilst I have no intention of banning or editing your posts, just because I find them long-winded, ambiguous and increasingly provocative towards other posters, it might be wise for you to stand back and give this thread a rest.

Blaen,

I am wondering why your website does not include the term 'unofficial' as I very much doubt that you have written consent to act in an official capacity on behalf of the club.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I am aware there is only one officially recognised CQN FC website, that is maintained and moderated by Wivey, along with this message board.

The Chairman would be wise to note this, in his official capacity as media spokesperson, by directing all future information through this medium.

If you have anything other than your usual hearsay to reveal, why not spit it out and get it off your chest, I see no reason to keep everyone in suspense.

You have clearly shown animosity towards Jim Hackett ever since the withdrawl of your services, due to ill thought out, out-of-hand comments made by yourself on your unofficial website perhaps?

As you are clearly the self appointed spokesperson of Mr Hunter, could you please relay to him my request of his immediate resignation from the board of directors.

Just so you're clear about the present club chairman...............in recent conversation and in front of witnesses, he openly refered to you as a fruitcake.............and on this rare occasion, I'm going to have to agree with him.

How's that for egg on your face !

I don't know whether Bobby Hunter reads this website but if he does he must be having a good laugh at the mayhem he has caused and the way some of the club's supporters are falling out with each other. One's things for sure - he is not responding to requests for some communication. His strategy suggests he is either very clever or very stupid (or perhaps just stubborn?)

I have tried to be moderate in my few postings but I am fast becoming irritated by the lack of communication from the club. What's the point of having a club website if the Board don't see any value in it for keeping supporters informed?
