blaen, Jim Hackett lives in the 21st century and carried on his work as a Manager whilst on a two week holiday in Spain last year, remember? He is easily contactable, I have already had communication with him once myself.

a) Because he has an email address
b) Because he has a mobile phone

It ought to be patently obvious to you by now, that Bobby Hunter has no intention of contacting him or re-appointing him as Manager and it is most probable that he will appoint someone else to the job eventually, without ever making contact with Jim again. Can't you see what's going on ?

Well because of our sentiments towards the club we all care for dearly, its more palletable to try to look through at the clubs situation with rose tinted glasses, like myself for instance.

However, a couple of weeks ago there WAS a certainty of hope, but knowing what I do now though, Im afraid the glasses have come off and we must all see in full colour the horrors which are about to unfold.

With no confidence in a board with absolutely no idea, with no people skills or business acumen, how can we possibly attract investment, lucrative sponsors or indeed new support which should be the very essence of our income?

One person (who I had every confidence in) was prepared to and could have made a significant contribution in this area, unfortunately has now also been 'pushed out' alongside other previous contributors who were worth their salt. Who is going to take his place? Is this yet another cap for the 'one-man-band' to wear? Crickey, his head is going to be awfully hot :-)

Seriously though, we all need to wake up and smell the coffee, Im sorry to say that I agree Wivey is right. Jim is the kind of person that if you called him at midnight to talk Nomads, he would be more than willing.

The reason nothing has been said is because **** all has happened, there is nothing to say, there is no statement and the club is being run by one man who has trodden on everyone except himself.

As far as Im concerned, there is one option only. I just hope the shareholders have the confidence in themselves to make some life or death decisions for the sake of the club.

:-/

Very enlightening quaypurr, obviously somethings happened to get up yours and tin tins noses, or am i misreading the messages. So how do the shareholders feel about their club being wrecked by the current board, why doesn´t one of them come out and do something rather than watch the club go down the pan, or is the one man band also the major shareholder?

I see that theres a few clubs losing their managers for one reason or another, i wonder if Jims been contacted about any of the vacancies, lets hope not, and lets hope that things are not as bleak as they appear to be.

Like Quaystone I also hope things are not as bleak as they seem but the uncertainty will continue until Bobby decides the time is right to make some sort of announcement. According to the Chronicle article on 25 April Bobby asked for 2 weeks to put his off-the-field team in place and to prepare a budget for his manager for the 2008/9 season. That 2 weeks has now passed and at the very least Bobby should be explaining why there is still no news. Maybe he is waiting for Jim to return from holiday so perhaps we will hear later this week or early next week???

As I said in a previous posting Bobby has always shown a strong commitment to the Nomads. It's a pity that through lack of communication (even an explanation of the reasons for the delay would help) people are resorting to drawing their own conclusions and fearing for the future of the club.

Blaen,

The time for being calm and patient has long gone. After the news of Jim's dismissal which I am both furious and dreadfully upset about this now leaves the club in an even worse position than it was in last year. At least last year the club had the backing of Mr Gray and DACS, not just from a financial perspective either. Who is going to do the hospitality, who is going to print and put together all the programmes, not to mention the countless other tasks both he and Roma did?

Now the club has no current financial lifelines, no manager and probably no assistants either. Andy Lee, KP, JR & GM) are very loyal to Jim and a decision to stay would be a difficult one. And in any case, I very much doubt their services are 'safe' either. They will probably go wherever Jim decides to go. I bet Jim's phone has been hot with other clubs trying to poach him and Ive no doubt he will get somewhere else quickly. What an absolute catastrophy.

I am absolutely positive this is not the only bomb which is going to be dropped this week. We should get this on reality TV, it would make a bloody fortune.

Quaystone,

I dont want to particularly air the details right here but Im sorry to say you are reading our messages loud and clear. To say things have got up our noses is an extremely mild way to put it but its true all the same.

I dont know why the shareholders arent doing anything. Probably because they had the same trouble as everyone else, talking to the chairman is like talking to a brick wall and the board are all like the scarlet pimpernell. A complete mystery.

I dont know personally who all the shareholders are. Like Wivey said, we could get the info from Companies House. I know for a fact that Bobby doesnt own all the shares.

I believe that the officials involved with the club are extremely disgruntled and concerned but I can only imagine they are afraid to make drastic decisions. Probably in all the years theyve been with Nomads, nothing like this has ever happened before. They have invested so much into the club over the years, not just financially, that I can only imagine they may rather ride with it, including any bad decisions and judgements that have and are about to be made, than to risk upsetting the applecart, hoping that somewhere along the line, a rabbit is going to be pulled out of the hat and all will be well again. Its a risk for them, I can see that but by the same token, the club is balancing on a knife edge.

I know what I would do, but its unfortunately not me in their shoes.

oh dear oh dear, what is going on with this club?? i see the wighead hobbit has most certainley let the power get to his very shiny head, is it just me who thinks this is most unfair and BH has got some serious explaining to do, this is now beyond a joke, i personally can see us folding as who in there right mind is gonna want to take over a club with a power hungry dwarf at the helm, it wouldnt surprise me if he became manager next year, haha, he would be tearing his hair out after a few games, on second thoughts tearing his wig off, what has actually happened to us????

Blaen you seem to be a man in the know, what do you think has happened, obviousley from previous posts you think the sun shines out of bobby's wrinkly old arse, are you still confident we will be alright if not better than this year???? please tell

i feel sorry for the management and the team, after going above and beyond what was asked of them last season, bringing in some class players and coaches, performing better than anyone could have expected at the start of the season, against some decent teams, i think it is now beyond belief and i for one expect the club to fold, can someone please instill some of my faith???????

For being christened Jim? For going on holiday? For having a surname rhyming with Packet?

The full story???? what the hell is there to find out?? From the managers & coaches efforts this season just gone, its obvious the decision is not football related which makes matters worse.

Its all cloak and dagger.

no problem wivey, as you seem to keep in contact with jim, can you shed any light? at the end of the day if hes gone hes gone, whos toes can anyone step on by givin a reason good enough to warrant the sack, in my opinion bobby hunter is a power hungry little man, i may be wrong, but he has done himself no good by keeping quiet, this is the man suposed to be taking us forward, so far he has done the two worst things imaginable, getting rid of john gray who is the only man i have any knowledge of putting money into the club and getting rid of jim hackett who is one of the best managers in the league imo.

the only way he can gain any trust from the supporters now is to bring in Abramovich and mourinho, which i cant see happening, seriously though how funny would it be if it were bobby hunter manager and blaen as assisstant at the start of next season, i would laugh my socks off!!!!

I was not surprised to hear that Jim has been told he is not needed - I've been expecting to hear this ever since Wivey's comments about Bobby speaking to Jim in not very complimentary terms about 10 days before the end of the season and then not speaking to him after the final game.

There have been some very angry postings and I'm sure these will continue until the club (ie Bobby) gets round to issuing some statements. What is needed now is a few words from Bobby which tells supporters (a) what is going to be done to strengthen the Board of Directors (b) what financial backing is being put in place (c) why John Gray's services were deemed to be no longer required and (d) what is expected of the new manager which wasn't delivered by Jim and his back-room staff. The sooner we get such a statement, the sooner we will be in a position to judge what sort of future the club might have.

No further light to shed really. Jim wasn't given any thanks and nor was a reason for his dismissal given. Not surprisngly, although he was half expecting it, he sounded pretty down and dis-illusioned, but he is catching his plane home today, so he said he will phone me with a statement for the website, when he gets back and has had time to reflect.

I would not put it past Mr Bobby Hunter to play the entire reserve team as the first squad for next season - not that he could be bothered to turn up for their Cup winning game a few weeks ago, hell, he couldn't even find time to make an appearance at the first team player awards !

Add that to the immediate banning of life members from the coffee room (as a matter of so-called security) from all future home fixtures and you will begin to see a similar picture appear - one of paranoia !

This club should not have to suffer in silence at the hands of such a craven, disrespectful, obstructive, paranoid, cantankerous old fool that IMHO is overstepping the mark by single-handedly making decisions that could ultimately damage the club beyond retrieval.

If you read this Mr Hunter and if you truly have the best interests of Connah's Quay Nomads at heart, then may I suggest for the future of the club, you have the decency to step down before you are forced to do so.

i'm very sad to see jim go,as i thought that the job he was given to do at the start of last season was a thankless one given the timescale he had to find a squad and then fashion a team from it,to steer the team to safety and the manner in which we played from christmas to the end of the season should have guarenteed jim at least another season,i can't believe bobby hunter has made this decision and the one concerning john grey without having something else in the pipeline,it does'nt make sense, the times i've spoken to bobby he has always impressed me with his commitment to nomads, this is why i still think he has something or someone else lined up.
