Jim Hackett's email to the website today:-

wivey,

Just a quick email before I fly off to Spain later today.

Up to now, I've had no contact from the club regarding the managerial situation for next season, so the outlook is looking bleak for me continuing at Connah's Quay Nomads. As much as I, the rest of the staff and the players want to stay, I'm fully aware that the decision rests with the board of directors. I think that the lack of contact probably points one way. I'm aware of rumours surfacing about approaches being made to people regarding the managers job, however, speculation is bound to happen and I'll wait and see what happens over the next couple of weeks whilst I'm away. I will be available for contact from you or the Club, by email as usual.

As for the players, I've contacted all of them to let them know the situation. They have all waited the two weeks that was asked of them, so there is a possibility that some may move on, which will be a shame.

The article in the Chronicle mentions that I was unavailable for comment at the time of going to press. However, I wasn't contacted by Paul Wheelock, so I am disappointed with the article.

Finally, having seen the story regarding John Gray, I'd like to record my thanks to him for the support he gave to me throughout the season and also wish him good luck for the future, whatever he may do. If I am leaving Connah's Quay Nomads, I'd like to pass the same best wishes on to all the people involved with the club.

Cheers

Jim

To quote "so lets all wait and see what the future holds and then comment"

Thats what I was trying to say earlier but clearly didnt word it correctly ;-) We can only wait and hear of any events as they unfold.

Speaking of which, Im so sorry to hear of Bungles departure. It was on the cards and you cant blame him as he now has such a wonderful opportunity ahead of him, away from this god forsaken country.

We all wish you well Chris with the best of luck and regards. Ill never forget the day my sons headteacher was asking the children who their favourite players were, "Ronaldo" "Fabregas" "Gerrard" the children shouted before our son stood up and shouted "Bungle! Nomads!" - absolute class! :oD

He's gonna be distraught when we tell him :-/

In reponse to blaen and owain g, we have always had a fair number of anonymous posters on this board, but since people needed to register with an email address, we have lost some familiar names, which is a shame. Anonymity on message boards is acceptable and common practice, thats what user names are for.

I have noticed that particularly at Nomads, opinions and contributions of new supporters, or posters on this message board, always seem to be treated with suspicion and hostility, regardless of how valid the contribution is. Could it be because we are slower than most, to adapt to new ideas and change ?

Im sorry to say Wivey, youve hit the nail right on the head. If I could have a penny for all the times people have poo pood our ideas, saying thats not what this club is about, or this club has always been small and thats how we like it - Id be a millionaire.

Theres nothing wrong with nostalgia and nothing wrong with a close knit fan base, it makes for a wonderful friendly community, sharing in something we all have a passion for.

However, the club has to move with the times to attract and keep new support which not only there has to also be a place for, but should be welcomed. Were all nder one flag and need to support each other as fans as well as the team!

Well it´s now Wednesday and theres been nothing from the club, questions should now be asked about how we as supporters can make ourselves heard by a club that appears to be heading for trouble. We´ve all waited for the two weeks to come and go and we´re no further forward with knowing what has happened or what is happening, so can somebody, anybody, tell me what needs to be done to be heard, I´m sick of waiting and feel that I´d be better off watching a better run club that deserves my support.

On a previous thread it was mentioned that £1000 per year could buy a place on the Board of CQN. What if 20 fans contributed £50 or 10 fans £100? Would that buy one vote and a place for a supporters club on the Board?

I believe its more like £2,000 and the existing board would need to agree it.

If you think you can rally that many fans to put their hands in their pockets, then you should contact the Chairman and ask him directly.

An official supporters committee would need to be formed with a nominated chairperson/spokesman that is willing to be sworn in as a Company Director together with the responsibilities that go with it.

No harm in asking though? :)

Does the club have shareholders, surely if they do they should be able to have a shareholders meeting and form a plan of action that will allow them and their concerns to be heard. Wivey, i would have thought that you can let us know about club shareholders. If they exist I´d like to buy a share and ask whats going on through a shareholders meeting.

Quaystone, you can download a list of shareholders from Companies House for a £1, if you want. It's not appropriate to post them on here and in any case I think the list is incomplete. I don't think there are shares available to buy unless you are able to buy someone else's and I have no idea how one goes about that.

Whilst I have significant experience in different levels of Management, I don't pretend to know a lot about company law as I have only ever worked for publicly funded organisations and they don't have shareholders (as such!).

There must be people who come on here who know a lot more about these matters than I do. I simply try to offer to Connah's Quay Nomads FC and its supporters the best communication medium that I can. for those that wish to use it.

Wivey

Excellent story on the front page that puts everything in order and easy to understand.

What the hell is going on? I cant believe the club would put itself in this position after your detailed storyline of only one year ago. We wont escape again as we did this year if this is not sorted NOW.

Has nobody else any other news/ info?

Even a rumour would break the silence!!!!!!!!!!:oD

Wivey,

I agree with Tigger Woods, a report that provides the whole story of the chaos caused by nev moving on and how the club all got together and sorted things out.

I also agree that the lack of communication has been the biggest problem, you´d have thought that lessons from last season would have been learned, but when the club is being run by only one man it´s probably the last thing he wants to do. It would be better if he has somebody lined up to let everyone know, I´m sure that things are happening but not quickly enough to make sure the players are still here next season, let alone the manager and coaches, although the way the staff have been treated I´d be surprised if any of them would want to stay anyway.

hmmm.... to add to the list of phrases; Never bite the hand that feeds !

That one goes to you know who in respect of all the volunteers who have tirelessly and often silently donated much of their free time and indeed finances to this club without recognition or gratitude; apart from a slap in the face that is.

Now is the time to be very concerned. :?-(
