Good post Tigger Woods, just out of interest, who is on our board of directors? I would have thought that with the club being safe a few weeks ago, plans and budgets for next season would have started then rather than wait until the end of the season. I know that the board have lost some members this year, but with so little information coming from the club I'm not sure whether they've been replaced or not, and to go from a board of 8 down to 3 or 4 and hope to progress looks to be a folorn task.

Blaen, your probably right that the backroom team won't want to carry on on an honourary basis, but as for Bobby Hunter carrying the can as both chairman and secretary, I assume that it is his choice to carry out both roles (although I'm not sure whether as a Ltd company it is healthy), so by putting himself in those positions he knows the score.

I was at the tns game (but missed llanelli) and despite the result thought that cqn looked as good as tns and could have won the game with a bit more luck, and then against Carmarthan, thought it was a deserved result against one of the better teams in the league, so the progress made during the season has been great, it will be a shame for cqn to have to go through the whole thing again.

Great website wivey

i think it's a bit of a worry that there is no news forthcoming from nomads about the coming season, planning should have been in place well before the end of the season with a contingency plan should the unthinkable have happened, players will be thinking about next season and where they will be going, they are not going to wait around for ever hoping for the call from nomads, and incoming players will want to see that nomads are going in the right direction, blaens right about the untapped sponsorship opportunities in this area, these people and companies need to be approached by someone who business minded and can talk the same "language",if we get proper backing and the club is on a good financial footing, hopefully we can be looking to the top half of the table and a relatively stress free season.

Thanks Quaystone, Your contributions to the messageboard are much appreciated. I am suprised and a bit disappointed that that more people have not said what they think on this paricular thread, given the importance of the decisons that are about to be made over the next week or two, as well as the possible impact on both our long and short term future as a Football Club.

I think it's importantant that the club knows what supporters think should be done, both for now and in the future and maybe even offer any help neccesary to do what we can to help things progress in the right direction. Otherwise, secrecy and poor communication from the Chairman/Secretary and Board, is at risk of being matched by the apathy and disinterest from the supporters

Excellent post blaen, no risk of it being deleted. Rocking the Nomads boat is what this thread is for, before she sinks without trace !!!

I'm sure that when the club media officer was mentioned earlier in the season it was stated that the post was being filled by Bobby Hunter!!! How many hats can one man wear at one club. Still no answer about how many members make up our board of directors though. Is John Grey still on it even though he stepped down as chairman.

Blaen, a lot of your points seem valid, but it's easy being wise after the presentation evening has been held to suggest who to invite, why didn't you put forward your list then.

The Board members and roles are as stated in every match programme. This information is not hidden or held back.

There is a lot of speculating going on which is causing a lot of unrest. Things are undoubtedly happening behind the scenes. Just because we dont know whats happening, it doesnt mean nothing is. Its fine to make suggestions, everybody welcomes that but dont assume that sponsors etc. and potential investors arent already being approached as thats not true. Many avenues are being explored.

Im not worried at this stage and would suggest that others be careful not to turn these speculations into chinese whispers without knowing the true facts, as outsiders reading the above posts would assume the club is on the brink of a disaster which is not the case.

I think supporters such as ourselves should leave the boardroom stuff to the board and concentrate our efforts on attracting and keeping bigger gates through things we know we can do, for example putting up flyers and posters in our local newsagents, pubs etc. to advertise our existence (following a suggestion at one of the supporters meetings, Roma tried this and it did temporarily increase the gates) however, this is something that needs to be done prior to every home game.

Another simple idea is for everyone to 'ask a friend' to come to the matches if theyve never been before etc etc. We tried this and brought 8 extra people to one game, 4 of which are still regularly attending. If everyone did this, it would increase the gate dramatically.

Its little things like this that cost virtually nothing but have the potential to snowball into something big.

Good post Quay Purr. "The Board members and roles are as stated in every match programme." Can you post them on here - so that we all know, please.

So why can't we know the "true facts" and be informed and reassured of developments as they happen? Maybe you know something we dont ? And while we wait for decisions and information, our Management Team and squad of players remain very uncertain about their future with the club and are bound to start considering other options if no info is forthcoming soon. We are concerned that a repeat of last seasons scenario is bound to have detrimental effects on the club. It's reassuring to know that you don't share those concerns!

At least the information about John Grey and Dave Brock isn't speculation or chinese whispers and there are obviously things happening behind the scenes, trouble is that the only one who knows isn't telling us, although your right we should leave boardroom stuff to the board, perhaps when they have their boardroom meeting between the three of them in a telephone box, they can let us know what's going on.

I know that if there was any sponsors etc, and potential investers looking at the club and whats going on they'll get twitchy, I know I am.

The treatment of John Grey is terrible considering everything he has done for the nomads, whoever made the decision should be ashamed of themselves to treat him this way.

Wivey,

There seemed little point in listing the directors myself after you'd already paid for a search at Companies House and had published the information on this message board. Had I read the post before you had done it, of course I would have posted their names. Anyway, you could have simply picked up the telephone and called the chairman, Jim or any club official and asked them, they would be more than happy to provide you with the info.

I also wasnt saying facts were being witheld, I was merely trying to reassure everyone that when something happens we will be told in due course. There is nothing worse than worrying over something that may or may not happen and thought it was best at this stage to allow the board to get on with their roles whilst we as supporters get on with ours.

Your last sentence suggesting I dont give a damn was unfair and has hurt my feelings. You know more than most that (both TinTin's and) my heart is truely behind this club and just like others, weve done everything we can to help out on a voluntary basis and provided kit etc. Its not been easy supporting this club over the past season and Im proud of the efforts that have been achieved. I dont particularly know any 'secret inside information' that Im not telling and dont know why would you think I do?

Everyone at this club needs to pull together, if my post offended anyone, Im sorry, it was not my intention.

I am willing to discuss and explore anything that has implications for the effective management and running of this club and its future, given that this thread is about "Planning for next season???"

Whilst I am not too surprised that a couple of people see fit to criticize my use of the freedom of information enshrined in company law to obtain some relevant information, especially blaen who previously unjustly criticised the club earlier in this same thread. I am surprised that no one has any comment to make about the shabby treatment meted out by the clubs current Chairman towards John Gray, his predecessor as Chairman and a major benefactor of the club. Still, maybe it's not a good time to stand up and be counted when you don't know who's next in the firing line!

Quaypurr, your right, everyone does need to start pulling together, but with the loss of another director, John Grey and no information coming from the club about anything it's hard to know where we should all be pulling to. It's been nearly two weeks since our last match and we haven't had one piece of positive or encouraging news from the club, all thats happened is that people have left or been dismissed and theres no indication from anyone about which direction the club is going. The same thing happened when Nev left and somehow the club managed to retreive the situation and enter the season with someone able to produce a team that was put together from nowhere.

All clubs in non league football rely on the hard work and help of groups of volunteers and willing helpers and nomads are no different, so you would expect some news about next season to be available if only to encourage the volunteer people. People looking in from the outside must wonder whats going on as well as the people on the inside and we are looking more and more like a club in trouble which will be sad for all the people in the club, management, players, matchday staff, supporters and volunteers that worked so hard to get through last season. If we lose any more of those mentioned due to lack of action by our board of directors then the club will be back to where it was at the end of the previous season.

Blaen, on a different note, I think I get you now, your an ideas man, I'm sure that Alan Sugar could do with you on the Apprentice, it's full of people who are able to come up with great and complicated answers but can't actually do the job themselves. There is a link on the website front page to the academy section, so it looks to me like the FAW and the club are already on the road that you suggest, so you'll have to come up with something else now that the club isn't doing right and treat us to your solutions.

Quay-purrr, I was obviously writing my last post at the same time that you were writing yours. I have personally never doubted the commitment and support that you and TinTin have given to the club and I clearly sided with you both early in the season, when you were being unjustly criticised by others for trying to encourage more enthusiastic vocal support.

I was disagreeing with you that we should not concern ourselves with what is happening in a boardroom that had diminished from 8 Directors to 3, including 2 recent resignations in a short space of time. Especially now that all the Officer powers are concentrated in the hands of one man, it's not a healthy state of affairs. Simply waiting to see the outcome is an option, but not one that I agree with. If supporters have concerns about planning for next season, I think they should express their opinions now, before they become irrelevant.

I had no intention of personally offending you and if I have done so, I am truly sorry. I think the club needs more supporters like you and TinTin, because you know more than most about the risk of sticking your head above the parapet and getting it shot off, and you keep coming back.

This whole situation gets more ridiculous by the minute. Apart from the investment side of things, players will be off soon and what chance does that give the management?
Oh, they are not there either are they? I am obviously worrying about nothing as all will be in the end wont it.

After all, we are only planning for a new season seemingly without a manager, players or investment. Not a problem then.

I hope this is sorted yesterday. I fear the worst and I am not sure why people dont seem to be sharing that view too much. At the risk of repeating myself the club should be pulling out all the stops to protect what we have.

How do we make our voice heard... before it is too late??

Tick tock tick tock - come on EVERYBODY.

After the crisis we had last summer we now seem to be facing another close season full of uncertainty. In answer to Wivey's comments about the loss of John Gray, I for one am very sorrow to see John being sidelined particularly remembering that he was the one who was reported to have put in the funding to rescue us when we had that awful start about three seasons ago. Having said that, I don't think it is right to make any other statement on how John has been treated until Bobby Hunter has had the chance to say why he has made the decision and what he is putting in place to secure the immediate future of the club. In fairness to Bobby, he is a Nomads supporter through and through and no one can criticise the commitment he has shown to the club for many years.

The real need is for some communication from the club and let's hope that comes soon and includes some good news about new directors and new funding.

According to the chronicle report shown on the front page we should hear about the way ahead over the next couple of days, which is the two weeks that was mentioned, so lets all wait and see what the future holds and then comment. I'm sure that we'll hear over the weekend because the communication at nomads has been so good since the end of the season.

I agree tigger woods, tick tock tick tock, without John Grey and his financing it will be interesting to see where the club gets it's money from to compete next season.

I'll give it till monday and then start asking serious questions about how we can make ourselves heard.

Blaen, we can all believe in ourselves and one another, but it doesn't matter a scrap if we can't beleive in the club and it's amazing how you've changed your tune from your earlier posts about adam dickinson and how his treatment from the club was so poor compared to that given to bungle, as I said before, your an ideas man and a mischief maker.
