With snow predicted at Newtown for Friday afternoon and evening on top of the already sodden Latham Park, the game must be in some doubt. Friday night's Welsh Premier fixture between Welshpool Town and Caersws has already been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.


There is to be a pitch inspection at 9.30 am tomorrow morning to see whether the game will go ahead. Check on welsh-premier.com before leaving home, it could save fans planning to travel to Newtown, from having a wasted trip.

Ive spoke with their club secretary this morning who says the match is definately ON !

I couldn't make the trip to Newtown today and from the scoreline to date I'm not sure whether I really would like to be there! Any news on the line-up and on what is going wrong?

Sorry Nomad4life, I haven't a clue about the line-up. Just a ray of hope though, Tommy Baker has pulled one back for us in the 40th minute, so it's now 3-1

Who the hell was that right winger, he was not good, Burns never good enough keeper useless cant kick a ball, impressed with jones and ford, why was herbie sub after last week and why is white still sub he looked good when he come on. Very strange dissisions to yet again through new lads in the left winger looked ok but like i say right winger TERRIBLE should never be thrown in to any team. Also can someone tell rowlands to pass the ball and stop turning in to his marker, he is another who is struggling at this standard.

Im not usually a big fan of white but he done well when he come on today but i think i would have done well compared to armstrong, caddy must have been gutted. Cant understand Herbie not starting, last week made the differance we needed, he cant win. I agree armstrong is a very poor signing for us his heading was embarrasing he kept heading it up in the air and he didnt know where he was playing at all. I find it very strange that these new lads keep getting thrown straight in witout having to fight for there place first, usually if you win the side should pick its self, why change it. why when some are clearly average like burns, rowlands, cronshaw( the other week straight in, but sub today) and armstrong and bedford are below average.

I just want to know one thing, i remember coming on here a few weeks ago asking why Cooke and Herbert were left out of the squad, i cant remember what game it was now. And jim kindly come on and explained his reasons, which was "herbert and cooke wernt fit on the thursday to train so if there not fit then, then they arent fit to be selected on the saturday". Which to me is understandable and right. But i read yesterday that Burns hasnt trained all week and is injured so wont be available for selection for newtown game, so why was he selected when he was not fit to train all week, and Cooke and Herbert werent when they never trained???? It just tells you that jim has his favourites, i wouldnt mind if he was a good player. Sorry but todays selections really did baffle me and a few of the other fans i was with. Why mess with a winning team.

Hi statos, I think the conclusions your jumping to, are premature. If a player misses training (phones the club, saying he's not fit to train) then he cant be considered. Alternatively, if player carrying an injury turns up for training and treatment and his condition is improving, a decision about his fitness can be left to the last minute. The pre-match report that you read was written by me in good faith, prior Thursday nights training session.

During a recent chat with Jim, he told me how popular and hard working Herbie is, in the squad. He said he never moans about decisions and his enthusiasm is infectious. ( I hope Jim and Herbie don't mind me revealing this - it could lead to suggestions of favouritism) Your suggestion that Jim and Andy favour one player over another, regardless of their fitness and ability, is out of order.

If you have a specific question that you want answering, put it on Andy's thread, rather than jumping to the wrong conclusion. I am sure he will answer it for you

Why was the winning line up changed ? If you read this website you would know in advance of the game that Pritchard was unavailable, Pinch suspended and Liam Jones - injured

Thats 3 forced changes. Bedford in for Pritchard, Craig Jones in for Liam Jones and Armstrong in for Pinch. The defence and mid-field had to be re-organised. McDiarmid, Alston, Burns, McAllister, Forde and Rowlands all kept their places. McNutt (A regular Conference and Unibond Premier Division goalscoring winger over the last 5 seasons. Don't say he's not good enough after 1 game, like with Forde ), preferred to Cadwallader. The bench remained unchanged with White and Cooke getting 27 min's and Herbie 15 min's

When we had lots of heavy defeats over the last two and a half months. many of you said the players we had weren't good enough. We sign new players with decent pedigrees and give them a game and you ask why the old ones aren't playing. Maybe it's because you were right the first time. Give new players a chance, along with the best of the older ones, to turn things around. It's our only hope. Also please read the information provided on site, because most of the frequent changes have been forced on the Management by the large number of injuries and suspensions.

If you bothered to read my post it says, why was burns playing when he was injured and clearly from his performance yesterday wasnt fit. And nobody said Mcnutt wasnt good it was armstrong wasnt it and they are totally right players like him should not be coming straight in. Are you saying that white herbert cooke caddy and cronshaw arent good enough, thats obviously what jim and andy think. Ipersonally think that herbert should have been in for mcallister after last weeks performance and i also think that jim got the desicion right to drop caddy but it should have been cooke that come in, not lads that havent proved what they have got to offer. Ive always said that if you play well in your last game you keep your place for the next game!!! But that is just the fans views.

very disappointing performance from nomads yesterday,jim took a gamble against rhyl on new years day,throwing in 6 new players and we were unlucky not to get a draw,but yesterdays gamble failed ,sorry to say it but the players who came in were not a patch on the lads who were on the bench,even young rowlands did not look up to the task against a better team than the one we played last week,we need to remember that the transfer window works both ways and if i was herbie, cook or white and i could'nt get in this team before some of yesterdays players i would be looking for another team.

how about putting 7 days in on newtowns left winger the 11 he battered us all day and the striker not mutton though
