just had it on good authority that stewart white has left nomads,no reason is forthcoming at the moment,if this is true it will be a huge loss to nomads as i feel that in the last few months white has been one of the positives in a side that is struggling at the moment.

This is bad news if it's true, Stewart has been one of the plusses of the season so far and I don't think we have another player in the squad who can do what he can for us.
If it's true, good luck to the lad and I hope he has a good career on the game.
His goal at Caersws will live long in the memory.

Petrie has gone with him.............sounds like a case of the rats leaving the sinking ship !

To me it shows a lack of character and if they are unable to take the rough with the smooth, then we are probably better off without them.

from what i'm hearing it's not a case of leaving a sinking ship in white's case,he has a genuine reason and has'nt gone anywhere else, hopefully the door has been left open for him,i don't know what petrie's reason is.

If we were within the top three of the WPL we would not be having this conversaton.............

i think before knowing the full reason we should'nt automatically think the worst of the players,if they were going to desert the ship as you say, they could have gone anytime in the last few weeks.

have they definitely gone? Poor timing in my view from the pair - I think they could have at least stayed until the window opens, or certainly until after the biggest game of the season on Saturday - that is the bigger crime. But why would the management put up with players who dont want to be here?

I appreciate what you are saying Owain, but I think White's overall performances have not been great. However what is disappointing is that recently he had shown signs of the player he could become. I was hoping by the end of the season he could fulfill a large part of his potential.

I wonder what their team mates think of their decision to go at this time? Whatever the reason I think it is a real let down to the club with the way things are. Agree with TinTin, top 3 and they might not have gone? I hope the lads overcome this latest blow and get a result Saturday.

Quayatheart, either you have a short memory or you don't take me seriously. I have deleted your post because you have not registered an email address, the post was totally negative and you have made unwarranted attacks on others. I have not banned you yet, but if you post again making personal attacks on others or without registering an email address, I will.

Tin Tin, having deleted Quayatheart's post for the reasons given above, I do not think it is appropriate to allow any response to it, so I have deleted your last post. Sorry!

I thought it best to write a message on this thread regarding my decision to stop playing for Connahs Quay Nomads at the moment as obviously people are making their own assumptions.

My reasons for this decision have absolutely nothing to do with the teams performances and have nothing to do with Jamie Petries decision to leave, and are purely down to personal circumstances. I would have had to have made the same difficult decision whether were were in the top 3 or the bottom 3. It was a difficult decision to make and a decision that i had put off making for a while, however it had come to a point where i could no longer put it off, and had to make the decsion to stop playing for now which has obviously come at a bad time for the team.

I live in Manchester and work shifts, and due to our training times, travelling distances and long away trips etc, was preventing me from working, which obviously was having a financial affect on me not to mention the risk of losing my job. Im sure people on here can appreciate that and have had to make decisions in their own best interests in the past and that is exactly what i have had to do.

I have not left to sign for another club, nor have i asked Jim to deregister me as a Connahs Quay player as my circumstances may change and hopefully will do so that i can return to play for Connahs Quay. I feel my circumstances are justified and am not a 'rat jumping a sinking ship'!

I wish the lads all the best for the forthcoming games and know they have the talent, passion and desire to get the results they deserve.

Stewart, thank you for taking the time to explain your circumstances on here. Understandably, with your improved performances since the start of the season and days before the vital Llangefni game, the timing of your decision has inevitably raised the level of anxiety and disappointment of Nomads supporters. Hopefully, having explained your commitment to Nomads and your reasons for becoming unavailable at this time, it will help other posters to understand the true reasons for your decision and put an end to the inevitable wild speculation.

Thanks for your contribution to the Nomads cause and maybe we will see you later in the season. If not, then best of luck for the future.

Stewart,

Can you clear something up for me?

Are you saying that you have no connection with Jamie outside the club and your joint descisions to leave are totaly unrelated?

Thanks............

tin tin,if you read the lads post,4th line down,he states there that he has nothing to do with petries decision, what are you trying to infer, you sound like a lawyer, why does he have to clear it up for you,he's already gave an explanation, financial hardships a terrible thing to put up with, will you give any supporter a hard time who does'nt come to the next game because he's saving for christmas.

Tin Tin, I agree with owain that it is not appropriate for Stewart to be cross examined on here. Stewart has had the decency to make a public statement and it should be accepted for what it is. Your response to owains post is unnecessarily abusive and I am deleting it.

Tin Tin, whether or not i have any connection with Jamie outside of the club is totally irrelevant to my decision to leave, and has nothing to do with you. I dont see why u needed to ask this question and in my oppinion are looking for ways to cause trouble on here, however for your benefit i will answer it.

As with most teams, most of the players have connections with each other outside of the club as they become good friends whilst playing with each other.

As stated in my previous post, my decision to leave has not been made down to team performances nor has it got anything to do with Jamies decision to leave. Im sure if you speak to him he would be happy to explain his reasons, which are also fully justified and unrelated to mine.

I can appreciate the timing of my departure may not be ideal for the team, and i am gutted and upset i have had to make this decsion, however i was left with no other alternatives due to the reasons stated in my previous post.

Tin tin, before you get too carried away with trying to invent conspiracies about a secret plot between myself and Stewart or something equally ridiculous, I thought I would take the time to explain my reasons for leaving the club. Most of which are totally work related. I have started a new business venture and it will require my total focus in its early period of development. The travelling time required for both training and fixtures is too much. Also, unfortunately, due to the wage re-structuring at the club, the financial viability is also marginal as I have to pay other people to do the job whilst I am away.

I have had several chats with Jim and Andy over the last month and have appreciated their advice and help. I have enjoyed my time at Connahs Quay although I don’t believe that I have played to my full potential. I have said to both Andy and Jim that I would have no hesitation in a return to Connahs Quay in the future and we have parted on amicable terms. Jim and Andy will hopefully confirm this position if asked.

I have requested release from my Welsh registration but this is only to give me the ability to play locally whilst I get the business venture going. I fully intend to return to semi pro football next season if all goes well.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the management and all coaching staff. I would also like to thank the fans for their support, even those that regularly took the time to comment on my abilities on this website!!

I wish the club, the players and all associated with the club the best of fortune for the future and am confident that Jim and Andy will steer the club to safety and build a strong team for the future.

Thanks for your explanation Jamie and for the effort that you have put in on behalf of the team. Best of luck with your business venture. I have added this statement along with Stewarts statement, to the story about your depature on the website.

Stewart,

Thank you for your reply, it is very much appreciated.

Contrary to belief, I am not trying to cause any trouble, I simply found it unusual that two players would leave at exactly the same time, especially as you were such close friends.....

I am saddened by your decision to leave at this critical stage and wish only that you could have stayed until the end of January, however, I wish you and Jamie the very best of luck in whatever you both decide to do in the future and hope that both your respective families enjoy the festive period.

Maybe if things take a turn we will see you both back again before too long...........I'm hoping so.

Wivey,

There are a lot of misconceptions flying all over this message board and to be quite frank I find it more akin to a WI than a football message board.

Every post has to be disected, cross examined and analised..............Nobody can freely post on here for fear of some idiot jumping to conclusions or reading between the lines and I'm just about sick of it.

Although I whole heartedly agree that the players and staff should be given every opportunity and that the berating of them does nothing to help the club, what are we allowed to discuss exactly?

If I mention the drum or try to encourage young lads to attend and make some noise in support of CQN, I'm attacked from all corners !...........obviously, encouragement is discouraged and frowned upon at this club %-)

If I stick up for Jim and his staff, I am then accused of being up Jim's aris !

After making suggestion at the first supporters meeting, I was accused of taking over proceedings !

I have been knocked for travelling to away matches on the team coach !

I have been ridiculed for watching the team train, although invited to do so and at the same time introducing a new player !

I have been told that I have not supported this club for long enough !

I have been accused of hailing from Grimsby, which I'm not, although quite what that has to do with my support for the Nomads I'll never know.

I have no financial vested interest in the club.............everything I do is paid for out of my own pocket for which I do not expect to be reimbursed.

What is the matter with everyone on this board?...............we should all be pulling in the same direction instead of the petty bickering and finger pointing.

All I have done since August is try and help out..............for which I have constantly been told that I am not welcome, compiled with bitter, childish insulting remarks made towards me and my family.

It does nothing to make me proud of my heritage.

I for one am sorry to see these lads go and wish them all the very best. Both players have given us some moments to remember this season and I am deperately sorry that I wasn't able to get to Caersws to record Stewart's goal for Nomads that he might have been able to look back upon with pride. But there were others that will stand the test of time just as well, the goals at Cefn Druids come to mind, when Jamie also scored and was denied a penalty, getting booked to add insult to injury!

This has been a difficult time for any new players to come into the club and they will both be missed. After the LLC game at Bangor I saw Jamie and bid him "well played", to which he replied, almost self-depracatingly, "You've got to say that, haven't you?" Well I didn't have to say it as it happens, as should be clear by now. It was a reference by me to the tackling back that I'd seen and remembered him doing in the second half when we were well behind and chasing the game. Petrie's overall game got more aggressive as the season went on and I think he is a better player going from Nomads than he was when he arrived, and Whitey's form also improved during his time here, though he had some benefit of previous experience in this league.

In any case, if either of you read this, thanks again for your time here and all the best for Christmas and your future careers, on and off the pitch. Your mugshots will stay on the 'sponsors' page for the rest of the season, who knows, you might be back sooner than you think!

Thanks for you time and commitment to the club Stewart and Jamie. Not all of us are bitter and twisted about managers/players/supporters leaving the club, and I also feel that you both didn't have to explain your decisions to leave on here. This is after all semi-pro football, not The Premiership.

Good luck wherever your future football paths lie, and I look forward to watching you both play, again, someday.
