It's devastating Doone, team morale just seems to have been crushed recently.

If any of the team have been reading this message board lately, I'm not suprised that the morale has gone!

Its all too easy to criticise your team when backs are against the wall. This is the time when the lads need your support more than ever!! All the name calling and sl@gging off has never helped anyone.

I do totally agree with what you're saying observer, the singling out of players on here has been terrible and totally counter-productive, but collectively 8-0 is not exceptable and there can be no hiding from that, I'm afraid. No hysterics from me, but an improvement now has to be made.

Observer,........i agree.....but am sry 2 say ,.......we are not good enough....dos,nt matter what sort of team Jim puts out, without nameing players ....there not cut out to play at this level of football......if the truth hurst so be it..........i no players dont go out to get beat ,but 6 goals in 24 mins........a sunday league dos,nt have that done to them......it might end 8-0........but these lads are semi pro.....its happening to often.....

we have the players but they are just not mingleing together the back 2 pinch and bungle work well together but if bungle is playing with someone else there you can't see a relationship

and then no-one works together even though i have seen them do it, they do it at the wrong times, either when there a few down, or when there is 2 mins to go and they all push forward and end up losing a goal :(

its sad to hear this result i was actually thinking of going but had to pull out at the last moment

we all know the players can play together and play extremely well when they do but its just not happening at the moment

come on lads pick it up

we are trying and trying to get more lads to come along with us but people say they will come and dont turn up :(

Van Basten, I've deleted your post and the two subsequent ones that referred to it, because it was vindictive. I haven't banned you yet because I think its possible that you may have something constructive to say? think about it?

wivey the choice is ures ... i think my points are valid and beleive the manager should be able to hold his hands up....i know you are close to jim but friendship isnt enough to keep us in this league
the buck always ends with the manager and his constant excuse making isnt good enough....has he not brought these players in ? ...all the extra coaches (i apoligise for my faith healer quip!!) etc maybe great in football league but imo the money should be used on the players budget ...most assistants are also players? alan morgan last year was a sub lee jones/wayne philips deryn brace./ gaz owen ..even tommi morgan at 48!!! this is so they can get more/ beter quality of players in ...a 100 pound player will be better than a £50 player?
But My main critism is the way we play ...we are not good enough to play at the back ..need to get it forward early ...i wud play s.white up front lone striker with 5 in midfield (hopefully makin us harder to beakdown)
as for constructive comments ...i dont believe jims were that constructive after the game saying that we need new players (i bet they cant wait for the next game they are that confident?)
we are in a dogfight but we have extra points on the board , so we need to be more resolute and jim/andy need to adapt to this league with/without new players

Van Basten, thanks for re-posting and I agree that the Manager has to take responsibility for who he signs. and how he Manages and plays those players. Be honest, do you think that some of our players are not up to WPL standard. I am saying it, other posters have been saying it and for Jim not to say it after our last 5 results would be a bit unbelievable. I have discussed the circumstances of Jim's appointment and the players available on the other thread which answers most of the points that you have made.

My friendliness with Jim is irrelevant and I am fully aware that being friendly won't keep us in the WPL. My friendliness and loyalty with Nev and most of last seasons players, didn't stop them from going and leaving the club in crisis. it doesn't alter my respect for them. I would be friendly with you if we met ( perhaps we already have ?) It doesn't stop me being honest and a realist. I simply run this website and message board in a way that I think is in the best interest of the club, regardless of personalities.

Wivey good , im glad we agree on that point
I still dont think Jim saying it on s4c (his players not up to it) helps any1 especially the dressing room....weve got points to be played for before jan window and somehow these players need a lift ...
I personally think that 7-8 are up to it ...and when we get players back from injury we will have astrong 11 ...bungle/pinch and dickinson are huge losses as even though they are young in years they have wpl experience (take the 3 best players from any wpl side and they would struggle)
Need more resolve allover (including jim/andy) ..a scrappy defensive 0-0 draw will do me against llangefni

p.s.(we have a met at a wedding not so long ago-both of us have the nomads best interests at heart)

Van Basten,

The reason Jim has stated that we need new players is mainly to build the team as we are very short on players full stop !

This has been shown to good effect by a few injured players, leaving the squad with little choice for rotation.

As for the comment on Jim being responsible for building the squad, this is true, but with the short time he had to do this after being thrown in at the deep end I think he's pulled a few rabbits out of the hat.

Money/wages has nothing whatsoever to do with the quality of the players in the squad. As I'm sure you are aware, rules within the Welsh FA differ from that of our English counterparts in so much as we cannot sign and play any new players between the windows.

We simply have to use the players that we currently have until January and that would also apply if we were to be without a keeper through injury........go figure !

Of late, I have been accused of being stuck up Jims aris, however I'm sure that there would be a few red faces if everyone were to understand exactly what he has put into the 'Nomads' since his inception...........I have every confidence in the man and his ability to take this club further.

We don't have to look back far to see how Chelsea progressed in their first season with Jose...........his second season was a completely different story............Rome was not built in a day !

Finally, you had previously mentioned Nev in comparison to jim............I would like to remind you that Nev was responsible for the exodus of several key players.

The decision made by those players to leave (rightly or wrongly) had a tremendous knock-on effect, creating what looked to be an unstable environment and the prospect of signing seasoned players that more difficult for the new Manager.

To date and where results are concerned, I feel we have so far been very unlucky. Some games we deserved to lose but there have been others that we deserved to win.

It's often difficult to see any light at the end of the tunnel when we are on the receiving end, but even with all the doom and gloom flying around at the moment, we can say that we are not at the bottom and I feel that now the S. wales away games are behind us, our fortunes are going to turn.....................Keep the faith !

Van Baston, I agree with everything you say in your last post about the playing strength of our squad, taking in to account the injured ones too. That still leaves us 3 or 4 good signings short of a squad strong enough to both cover for injury and get enough points between January and the end of the season to keep us up. With our best players out, it isn't currently strong enough to do that. Whether Jim should publicly acknowledge it, after an 8-0 defeat and 23 goals shipped during our last 5 game loosing run, is a debatable point. Having to protect players from over-the-top and personal criticism is something I have worked hard at on here and I know Jim and the players appreciate it. Acknowledging that the Squad as a whole isn't strong enough and needs strengthening is an obvious fact that surely even our players know and understand. They are intelligent guys and must surely look forward to some capable reinforcements.

When you originally posted, I had a hunch that I knew who you were, which is why despite deleting your post, I invited you to post again. I am glad I know who you are now, but please be fair and give our Manager chance to deliver. Nev never had to prove himself under such difficult circumstances as Jim inherited, and even he suffered 7-0 and 8-0 losses and a run of 10 successive defeats. Trying to compare the old with the new just isn't valid in this case.

PS, I hope things are well with you and I look forward to meeting you again for a chat and a pint and to raise a glass for Nomads, at some time in the future.

Van basten White upfront on his own is just a waste of time he wouldnt be able to hold the ball up, he is also a bit headless at times and ends up running up his own backside, keep him on the wing i say. The obvious choice for a loan striker is Herbie or Macca, but macca needs to get some fitness from somewhere first, he looks like he doesnt train, he just isnt mobile enough for me. Herbie needs to be a bit more greedy with the ball when around the box instead of laying it out wide for crosses too much. We need to resort back to 4 4 2 and get the experianced lads playing to pull us out of it i.e Cooke, Herbert and Hitchen. There is not much chance of any better players coming to us when they can move to better teams with more money. The only players we will be able to get are players from lower leagues who wont be too much better than what we have. I have already heard jim doesnt have anyone lined up as he doesnt know anyone at this standard.

vanbasten makes some salient points but in Hacko's defence, post match interviews and immediate reaction / comment are a minefield ...

The players who cross the line have simply got to dig in for one another, get behind the ball and cover so that whoever is nearest can attack the ball, thereby depriving the opposition of time to play. This demands fitness, but this is supposed to be the main area in which we are making progress. Played like this, scoring opportunities can be thin on the ground, like if you stick a loner up front but you have a chance of keeping a clean sheet. It's going to have to get ugly if we are to get out of this.

btw, nice one in making the trip owaing, think I saw yous on the tele. (Not smiling though ;0( )

Raider although i understand your point i think the problem lies with us playing balls into strikers to hold up (if it breaks down the opposition is attacking us)we should forget about passing at the back (were not good enough)
...i think that the ball should be beyond the oppsition defence as quickly as possible , so they are turned and as i would say stewie white is our fastest player he is the 1 player who could cause defences problems...dont think any defender likes playing against pace
at this point our 5 in midfield should battle for the 2nd ball higher up the pitch ..... i know its ugly football but no-one plays the long ball forward more quickly than rhyl ...ugly but successful ...and we are in a dogfight so uglier the better

Blaen i also understand Your point , but i still dot think critism from the manager helps any1 ...

tin tin ...i chose not to reply as i disagreed with most of your opinions .."rabbits out of hats!!!!".....classic

Wivey things are fine i will look forward to another pint with you , and i hope your familys well

I think 99% if not more of us would settle for ugly football if it gets us out of trouble. Whatever happens we have to stick behind the people we have got, on and off the pitch. If we are being asked to stand up and be counted, count me in.

i agree with the comment about white up front,to get the best out of him,the ball has to be played over the defence a bit quicker, and as for him being a headless chicken,of the games i've watched including saturdays disaster,he's the only one who trys to play the ball to someone who is actually on the same side as him.

I call for the 'long ball in', sod the possession, just hoof it at the goal, if nothing else it will scare the bejesus out of the opposition and throw them off track. They wont know what the hell is going on. If you keep hammering it at the goal, mistakes are bound to be made which we can capitalise on.

Tackle them hard and hoof it!

p.s. if we only have 4 players left by the end of the 90 mins you can all blame me :-)

Sorry to be bit picky, but when you play long ball it does help if your strikers are little taller! And you midfield too!

When you 'hoof' the ball up to 6'8'' centre half that will run through you to clear his lines, all you do is invite pressure back onto your defenders! Making them look mediocre and unfit if bombarded for 90 mins, and appear "inadequate for the WPL standard".

I understand from forum that can't bring in new players til January hence the style of game played so far, being short arse blokes that are good quality passing side but haven't quite got luck in final third!

" You don't know what you got til its gone!"

Think on!
