True Nomads Supporters

after suffering the pain and anguish of the last few games,would'nt it be just typical of nomads to go there and win,i can sympathise with man city supporters as i can imagine it must be the same rollercoaster ride watching a team who have jekyll and hyde personalities,we know we have the players to cause an upset and porthmadogs recent win must give us hope,so what better way to put a smile on nomads supporters faces than to come home with all the points,best of luck lads but i'm sure you don't need it.

It's a big ask, Llanelli have quality right through the side and it is always a tough place to go and get a result. However, football is a very funny game and teams are at their most dangerous when they are hurt, and God knows we're due some luck. I don't think I've ever seen a Nomads team hit the post/bar so many times in one season.

Llanelli come equipped with a full repertoire of tricks and gamesmanship, or at leastthey have in recent seasons, but like all the big (in physical stature) teams they are vulnerable if made to turn with the ball on the ground. We have players with the skills to exploit this. Added to the fact that we have performed best against the 'footballing' teams in the league, and given that someone will be able to stay close to Antonio Corbisiero throughout, we can come back with a point - but it is a lot to ask after what will be a gruelling journey down there in the forecast weather (rain all the way). Nobody outside Deeside expects us to win, so we can play as if we have nothing to lose. Fortune favours the brave.

The result against Port Talbot did not reflect the way the team played in any shape or form and although Llanelli is a very long trip, our lads seem to travel ok, so I dont think it will be a gruelling journey for them. On the team coach they keep themselves occupied and in great spirit both there and back - rain or no rain! Its only bad when you have to drive there yourself!

I know Llanelli are a force to be reckoned with but sometimes teams such as these become over confident and easily get caught out when they dont expect it, by which time they get frustrated and lose the plot. Ive seen it happen loads of times over the years. All we can ask for is that our players give it their best and keep constantly attacking and pressuring from start to finish showing them weve come there to battle and were not going without a fight - whatever the result.

A win would be great for the team and fans alike, nothing is impossible, where theres a will theres a way, and theres always a way!

Porthmadog's win was a largely rearguard action in which they defended throughout and scored on the few opportunities they had. If we go all outto attack a full time side we could get slaughtered. The players must have adapted better to travelling since I last travelled with them, I sincerely hope so as the run to Haverfordwest was grim, no names, no pack drill.

Given the chance I would always prefer to drive frankly, as I did last year for the Welsh Cup quarter final, at least then you can stop and start again as best suits. Obviously this isn't an option for the team but if we had the resources an overnight trip would be the best option. Apparently Haverfordwest County, who have about half a dozen really long trips up north, travel up to stay at a hotel near Oswestry on the Friday night and then make a one hour trip on Saturday morning. They have been doing this for some time and they have arrangements with the coach firm and the hotel to make this viable, it would be ideal if Nomads had a similar deal with a coach firm and a hotel somewhere like Rhayadr or Buith Wells. There was some talk of researching this at one stage but I don't know how far it got. I don't think it makes much difference in the cost of the coach as the distance travelled is the same and the operator only needs to send one driver.

Does anyone have any team news for tommorow, my guess is that hitchen will be in for bungle, i cant see there being any other changes to the starting eleven maybe cooke for glover?

Rob you may be right about Hitchen, with Caddy at centre half? Thats if Pinch is still out?

I think the only way Cooke would be in for glover is if Glover went back to left back? Cant see him replacing him.

Up front - will it be Herbert/ Melia again? and will Wes come back in? The only thing is with that is as Ive said on another post is his fitness levels against full time players may mean we are over ran a bit.

With the injuries to the 2 centre halves it leaves us a little short of options?

The Preview of the Llanelli game is on the front page with the up-to-date squad news. The squad is depleted with injuries - the most we have had all at once this season.

It will be a tough trip for the lads that are going and unfortunatly I can't get there to support them this week. So Best of luck Nomads. If you play out of your skins with pride and get lots of luck, you can go one better than TNS and cause the shock of the season.

I would like to think that the late bout of scoring by llanelli was mainly down to fitness levels. By which I mean the restrictions placed upon Jim/Andy/John in having a severely depleted list of players to chose from, also with some key players out due to injury.

We were most definitely up against it today. Travelling down to S.Wales over hill and down dale with a brief stop off at the 'grease pit' in Builth Wells before continuing along roads akin to a country lane must also have taken it's toll before such a daunting fixture.

Then, having the uphill challenge of facing a full time squad in their own back yard with more than enough numbers within their ranks to enable rotation at the drop of a hat, a luxury that CQN simply has not got at this moment in time.

I say well done to the players for holding off against such adds for as long as they did and maybe, just maybe...........the odds will be stacked in our favour for the return leg.

Wivey i would usualy agree with what you said. But the side was not depleated as much as you think on the report before the game it said Herbert was out of squad, ill due to food poisioning and Cooke back injury. I couldnt make todays game as travel was a bit too far for my daughter to go. Anyway i went to watch fflint town v bala town and was amazed to see Herbert there watching with bungle i asked herbert how he was feeling after his illness and he replyed there is nothing wrong with me ive just been dropped from the squad. Then i mentioned Cooke and he said as far as i know he has been dropped with me. So for me we got what we deserve if we wont take our strongest squad to these games. Why were they not selected. I bet there made up with the result now if what i heard is true.

i've just had my water tested and it was just a urinary infection,never mind,better luck next time.
