Not meant as a wind up, just hopefully to lighten this topic:-
FISH NETS IN TIGHT GAME!
Mackerelsfield Town 4 Kilmorhaddock 3
New signing Ivor Fish netted for the home side to seal the game. Excellent fin-ishing was a feature throughout. “We battered them” said Chairman Jack Pike as he joined his cod-directors for a celebratory drink. Visiting manager Alfie Bass would not comment as he went off with Rod and Annette. The winner came as winger John Dory chipped the ball into the penalty area and even though defenders were packed like sardines, Fish hooked the ball over the line . Mack have trawled the league for new signings finally bagging Fish a week ago from Stockpool County. A fine sole-o effort from former Whales international John Oyster opened the account for the visitors. But the equaliser was something of a fluke. Wyn Cull who is a dab hand at corners scored direct! Marc Limpet the former Nomads player scored twice to make it 3-1 at half tide. In the second half two stunning goals from “Electric” Ray Monger drew the visitors level and Mack had to defend wave after wave of attacks before Fish came up with the clincher to leave their opponents dead in the water.
Happy Dace are here again at Roe-ker Park with Mackerelsfield moving up one plaice in the table, while Kilmorhaddock remain all at sea.
