tin tin,i can't believe the line you had in your post about quoting phrases like battered cod as you find it offensive as your partner is from that area, you must be shitting yourself when you walk by the fish counter in morrisons with your partner on your arm,get a life.

FYI its on par with calling a black person the 'n' word. And Owain, I have always read and enjoy reading your posts, why you choose to get involved in this I have no idea.

A complete over reaction QP. To compare associating Grimsby with fish and a disgusting racist word such as that, is just unbelievable.
I seem to remember Grimsby going on a good f.a cup run in the mid 80's and playing Wimbledon away and the supporters of GT turned up armed with inflateable fish and sang, we only sing when we're fishing, which later became the name of their excellent fanzine.
QP and TT, I despair at your comments now, I really do. If you can't give reasoned debate, why bother?

I wasn't going to carry it on, for the reasons that I gave, but felt I had to pass comment after the black comment, unbelievable.

B***dy Hell, is whining all you lot do?

I've been trying to organise a trip (and encourage other to come) down to a Nomads game for some time, juggling Carlisle United fixtures, parental commitments and work, around CQN fixtures. Thought I'd got it cracked last weekend (Druids - I know it was away) but the Friday kick off scppered it. This messagebord is hardly the place to go if you want to be inspired to make the extra effort.

I know there'll be a queue of folk itching to pan me for not being a "real" or "loyal" supporter with no right to voice an opinion. The trith is I'm not a Nomads supporter but, being born in the area, I do have an affinity with them and feel I should make the effort to attend at least some of their games.

You lot don't know you're born, you should have tried supporting Carlisle United during the Knighton era, you'd know what misery is then!

TinTin, Grimsby to Peterborough 84 miles, mere hop, skip and a jump (Carlisle's nearest away fixture 89 miles). Judging by the clip it's p*** poor turnout by the battered cods!

DR, I can see where this is going and it's not going to do the club any favours so I think it is best if we agree to disagree and drop the subject..........................my only wish is for Nomads fans to get this reved up and have this attitude at fixtures.

I suppose asking Cumbrian to fetch us a half a pound of best Cumberland sausages down with him on his visit is out of the question? ;-)

the reason i posted about it was because i could'nt believe someone could get so upset about a mention of battered cod,if he had said grimsby people smelt like cod or looked like cod fair do's,but to compare it to calling a black person a n***** makes you look as sad as him.
