True Nomads Supporters

after last fridays collapse against druids,it's vital we pick up maximum points from the next 2 games,in games like the one against druids where we lost the will to win and the supporters lost the will to live,its important we get back to winning ways and stop our selves from sliding any lower down the table,we won't come up against any better prepared teams at set pieces than druids as some one mentioned on an earlier thread,i'm sure jim and alan will be working on a plan of defence to stop that happening again,i don't like to slate players but we were a joke defensively on friday and the sooner bungle gets back the better,in the meantime jim should get the defence together in training and introduce them to each other,it may help.

Same defence as TNS game.

Any team would miss Bungle but equally important is Pinch as well. Defending from set pieces is not just the responsibility of the back 4.

Im sure Jim and Andy will get it sorted this week - and when there is a full defence to pick from it will be a different story, lets not go overboard about one defeat. It may be the kick they need.

Not really just "one defeat.". we shipped 6 at Haverfordwest (and 6 against us at Rhyl , ok in the cup) with couple of 3's in for good measure. Thought Welshpool could have got more and looked dangerous so there is work to do..it's not just a blip.

Yes i agree, we have been very very poor last 4 or 5 league games. For me alot of the players we have are just clearly not good enough ( petrie, caddy, melia, hitchen and alson) We are struggling to create chances so how are we going to score goals.

In my humble opinion some of you must be watching through some very jaded eyes. We have been playing more attractive football than at any time last season bar a couple of games. There have been missed chances, we are missing a bit of confidence at the back, a bit of sharpness up front and a bit of snap in midfield. That is the diference between success and failure though.

Blaen, I think your forgeting what a great season it was last year. It was possibly one of the best in the clubs history and there is no comparison at all with the standards of football. I don't mean to disrepect Jim and the boys by saying that, but last season was superb.

I also can't agree with Stepho, in the last 4-5 games, we've beaten the full time champions, on pen's, after 120 minutes of scoreless football. We had an exciting 3-3 draw with one of the best teams in the league, Welshpool, and we were unlucky to lose on pen's to a decent Carmarthen. That's hardly the actions of a side playing 'very very poor'.

I said last 4 or 5 league games??? we were very lucky against welshpool aswell. We need to pick up points now, the last thing we want is to be near the bottom by christmas, we need to get a bit of breathing space before then. Then in january maybe see a few more signings come in. to replace some of the lesser players.

Sorry Stepho, my mistake! I still wouldn't say that we've been that poor over the last 5 league games, a draw against Welshpool is no mean feat, and I thought we could have won it. In that spell we've also beaten the Busmen and drew with Newtown, again a match we could easily have won.
Looking at our results though, we need to start performing away from home again. We looked good at Llangefni and Caernarfon.

Yes i think that too. We could do with getting an unbeaten run together, but i really do think we dont create enough chances for that to happen. Think we need to get wes in the middle of the park to create a bit more then white on the wing for wes and tiger to send on his runs and herbert up top to score the crosses put in with macca. Easy peesy. ha ha ha.

Yes indeed, last season was a great success and there were some smashing games. I still think though that the measured, passing game style being nurtured is very pleasing on the eye, but then I was brainwashed into the 'Cloughie' style long ago. It also requires the ability to change pace quickly, knocking it around in safe zones is relatively easy, ther has to be penetration at the end of it.

:-! LETS NOT FORGET A LOT OF PLAYERS FROM LAST SEASON WALKED AWAY ,PRESEASON SO NEW PLAYERS WERE BROUGHT IN . PLAYERS NEED TIME TO GEL ,GET TO KNOW THE MANAGER AND HIS WAY OF PLAYING,.
SO INSTEAD OF SLATING PLAYERS ON THIS BOARD GET BEHIND THEM GIVE THEM A CHANCE AND JUDGE THEM A THE END OF THE SEASON . REMEMBER A LOT OF PLAYERS COME ON HEAR A READ THE REPORTS SO COME ON GIVE THEM A CHANCE

Sorry but the end of the season might be too late if we dont get some decent results soon. I pay £6 to get in and watch our boys so i want to see us play better and score more goals than we have been.

By £6 I am presuming that you are refering to home games?

We are unbeaten at home in the league so far. Not bad for a team with more than their fair share of injuries that was put together in a hurry using players from lower leagues a new Manager to boot!

The only thing I have to complain about so far is the lack of support from the fans................by which I mean vocally at games, get behind the lads and let them hear you for Christs sake!

what players are from lower leagues??? they are all from the same sort of standard, northwest counties and west cheshire plus lads from league of wales.:-!

For all you doom mongers out there, I reiterate what I say, instead of griping and moaning on here, how about some more vocal support for our team instead?????????????????????????????????????????????

I pay my massive, lifestyle changing £6 not to just sit on my arse and do nothing but tut and gripe for 90 mins but to enjoy the action - yes, its nice to win, win, win but this is largely a new team which have so far have done a great job. We are going to get good games, shite games and mediocre games but being in the stand and being able to hear a pin drop isnt helping matters is it?????

Tbh QP, it's not what it's all about for me. I shout encouragement when I feel the need to, or can be bothered. I go the Nomads to watch a good game of footy and have a good chat with my mates.
If you feel the need to shout, sing, clap etc for 90 minutes, that's great but I feel it's a little unfair to expect and to a ceratin point demand that others join in.

Sorry Tintin but I take great offence about anybody questioning my passion for the club. I've taken time off work to follow this club all around the country. I've driven to South-Wales in clapt out rust buckets, and then there has been the unseen work I've put in behind the scenes. So I think I've proved my passion tenfold over a number of years.

As an amatuer player myself, I wasn't really bothered about support from the sideline, my motivation to play came from within, although I do realise that every person is different in that respect. I wouldn't agree that players at this level get effected by non-responsive fans, though.

I fully respect yours and QP's vocal support for the team, but I don't think you respect that other people approach match days differently. I personally like to discuss the match with my pals, and have a quiet word with one or two of the players before, during and after the game and I can't see the problem with that.

As for the Grimsby link, I saw their supporters first hand last week when Chester played there, and you could have heard a battered cod hit the floor, they were that quiet!!!!!

As for the Chester away @ Grimsby, there is a ban on drums at midweek evening games, besides, I was at a Nomads v Carmarthen Town
cup game where both my loyalty and passion lies.

There really is no need to be quoting phrases like 'battered cod' on this message board, I find that personaly offensive as my partner is from that area.

Can I suggest the next time you are having a chat with one or two of the players before, during and after the game, that you ask their opinion on vocal support?

My last post on the matter now Tintin because I don't feel I need to explain myself to you or anybody else.

The Grimsby cod comment was a joke, due to the fact that in football circles the cod and chips from the mariner chippy are legendry and in fact one of the main reasons behind my trips to BP, but I'm afraid that seems to have gone over your head! As for me not attending the Nomads match that night, I work very hard for my money and spare time and I will do with my spare time whatever I feel like. I have nothing whatsoever to prove to anybody at CQ, especially somebody who has barely done half a season. That was not a comment a wanted to make, but like I said I take it very personally when people question my loyalty and passion.

As for having a word with the players, again I will say whatever I want to them and I don't feel the need to ask them their views on happy clapping.

As far as I'm concerned that's the end of the matter now, because petty squabbles like this are adding more to the shouts for shutting this board down and imo it is not what Connah's Quay Nomads FC is all about.
