nomads started brilliantly with a bolt of white lightning after 2 mins,white dispossesing the druids center back before hitting a sweet shot from about 30 yds,nomads knocked the ball about well and threatened to take druids apart in the first 10 mins,once druids drew level nomads went to pieces and every druids set play caused havoc in the nomads box,we could'nt win a header and every ball pumped forward went straight to timmy edwards head,when we played it along the ground we looked good,but it did'nt happen enough,white had an outstanding game for nomads,one bright spot on a dark night for us,kilgannon once again stood out,driving nomads on,but too many players tonight were afraid to put their heads in where it hurts,poorest game i've seen so far from the keeper,did'nt command his box well enough and very indecisive when it mattered,druids played to their strengths and got their rewards,we'll just have to chalk this one done to experience and move on.

Just read the report from last nights game, seems a fair reflection. Wasn't it Petrie who scored the second goal though?

Petrie scored from Kilgannon's through ball (short clip online at aryblaen) and later got booked for allegedly diving although he was bundled over by a defender who stepped into his path - in the penalty area. This was at 2 x 4 and a goal at that stage might have yielded a fightback, but then who's to say we would have scored from the spot after the last couple of matches? We largely ran out of luck, and then we ran out of steam - but not necessarily in that order.

Blaen, did you manage to record nomads first goal..?

Abo, Blaen's just phoned me and said yes, he has got Stewart Whites goal and will have it on site ASAP

Hi all,....Very disappointing night.......a bad around performace,...a lot of players hiding for some reason......not that they have to,.they have done us proud since the start of the season.......as Jim, has said in his right up men against boys,.... it sure was.......Need to forget that game now and move on,.....League table is looking intresting very close in the middle.......if we dont start putting points on the board, we could be finding ourselves bottom 4......in the next couple of weeks.....as i,ve said in a previous post....we will no a lot more bye christmas......KEEP ON GOING LADS AND FORGET ABOUT LAST NIGHT.....

I'm afraid we are not travelling well at the moment, still unbeaten in the league at home and little in results away.

To be fair, Druids had some big lads, both up front and at the back..........I cannot help feeling that Bungle's height/skill advantage would have made the difference in a game that could have gone either way if not for corner kicks.

Rarely have I seen a team outside of the English premiership so practiced in set pieces, especially at corners..........By midway through the second half I was starting to pray for the ball to stay constantly in play!

I have not got as much as a single finger to point at any of our players, IMHO they made a very good fist of it and I'll put money on a completely different result in the return match at home.

Once again Wes and Wayne stood out for me with Glover and Macca a close second...........Pritch made some fantastic saves yet again, but was crowded out on corner plays and physically obstructed by Druid players, something that the ref (amongst other things) failed to pick up on.

Onward and upwards ...........as previously mentioned we can learn from this but the result should not be dwelled upon.

We were really looking forward to this match last night and Whitey's goal put us on top of the world. There were only one or two Nomads fans where we stood but the roar was great!

What happened next was every fans' nightmare, however, that still did not stop us from hollaring away right to the end, even when it was quite obvious we were not going to recover - much to the home fans amusement :-| Still, they soon realised we were not going to shut up :oP

As for men v boys - It reminded me of the Space Jam team. They were more like monsters. They towered above our lads and much to my annoyance won almost every single header. Like others have mentioned, it was all we could hope for that the ball would stay in play and on the deck, only that would have given us a chance. Although they were much bigger, our lads are in fact much better and stronger than I think they realise. They need to take a look at Wes and indeed Wayne and getting stuck in. As much for morale as well as for winning the ball.

Tommy Bakers goal was a peach and a welcome relief. The ref was a complete idiot and fans from both sides were constantly commenting on the fact. Our side was given a throw in by the linesman at one point for the ball going out of play - there was no way that ball was out, not even close !!!! and as for Petrie's yellow card - for Gods sake ref, get a grip!

Jim has apologised for the performance - there really was no need. We're all old and wise enough to know that sometimes its just not our night - last night was not our night. What I dont like to see is our players hanging their heads and moping. Its soul destroying for the rest of the team and the supporters. Chins up lads, it was still an entertaining game and an experience for us all. Its all behind us now, lets concentrate on the next game. We can get our gameplan sorted and kick the Druids Ancient asses when they come to Deeside for the return match. ;-)

last nights game was a perfect example of what we have to compete against in this league,the majority of football played in the welsh premier is not very pretty to watch and most teams rely on strength and route one football,a team like nomads who have more footballing players in their side than most will always struggle against the athletes and power play of most of the other teams,we have to take last night as step along the way of our education in the way to win ugly,i know what i'd rather watch but it does'nt get you into europe,or can nomads prove me wrong,here's hoping.

I understand all of the above coments but we can not hide the fact that possibly the main reason for the 5 goals was the number 4.(Ben Alston i think). What a lack luster performance form him he would be better off with the reserves. If it wasnt for Alan who i agree with Jim played a fantastic game it could have been a lot more. I noticed that the number 5 got taken off when it should have been Ben. Personally I think Jim should look to bring back pinchy as soon as possible and put Ben with the reserves where he belongs.

From a Druids perspective I'd advise you not to be too distraught. We're actually a decent side this year with a wealth of experience throughout the side. I thought you looked pretty good going forward, but your defending of set pieces was atrocious and your keeper didn't seem to have much understanding or instill much confidence in your defence.

Robert Stock.................I think that you will find the 'Nomads' quite formidable on home turf.

I for one am looking forward to your visit to Deeside in february, by which time we will have a full compliment of match fit players on hand.

Welsh Man - what a ridiculous statement.

ben cane highly recommended to us through Andy and suuffered an injury pre season. He played well at right back and also with a more recognised centre half (Pinch) and performed well in the midweek cup game.

You must be winding someone up or something. To pick out 1 player from that game, in particular one of our previous best performers is unbelievable.:-!

I agree with Simon Richardson - don't let us get into blaming individual players especially when after we've seen how well all of the lads played against TNS. Yes, Friday was disappointing but reading Jim's comments shows that he was as disappointed as any of the supporters and will be doing all he can to get us back on track. Our performances against TNS and Carmarthen show that we can have the potential to be a top 6 team so let's put the Cefn Druids game behind us and look forward to geeting back to winning ways again on Saturday.

Friday was a disgrace and if someone gets picked out for a bit of stick then im sorry but they must take it. Only 1 player stood out and that was kilgannon, white also tried hard. Herbert is still stook on the bench and should be starting by now he has shown he is good enough too. And was a bit surprised that Caddy never started as he has upped his game in recent weeks. I think we are giving Andy Lees ex congleton boys too many chaces to show that a few are struggling.

Whilst Friday was a shambles , it is unfair to single out Ben on his own. The makeshift central pairing were heroic against TNS and there were no complaints then. The real test comes next Saturday when hopefully the team will show that this was a one-off.

Having accepted it was a bad performance , we could easily have been 3-0 up after 10 mins and had the obvious penalty been given when Petrie was brought down the score could have been 4-3 and Nomads would I believe have gone on to get something out of the game.

The introduction of Caddy and Petrie gave the opposition real problems and both players looked to be playing with more confidence. Would agree that Glover, Kilgannon and White never let their heads drop. Not sure about Herbert yet.
