I have just read the right up on main page. Yes its going to be a good game tommorow night, welshpool are a very physical side with some good quality players. I dont think there will be to many changes from saturdays game i dont think. I would only change upfront Herbert in for Macca because he looked like he could offer a bit more than Macca from what i seen on tuesday and White in for Melia because melia is not good enough to keep any of the forwards out, but could do a job on wing, if i had the choice that is. Does anyone think differant or got any inside news on tommorow nights team.

yes i agree with Herbie coming in but not too sure about white. I would have Herbie and Macca upfront just for the physiclal strength. Herbie and Macca both put themselves about defenders and hurry them in to mistakes. White could be used as a good sub to bring on and change the game, a bit like saturday, but he just doesnt do enough when he starts, he just goes missing as does Melia.

Yes we do need something differant upfront, i also think macca and herbie should start they are the 2 best forwards at the moment so its up to the other lads to take there place now. Best of look tonight whoever starts boys.

Thanks Deesider, another great write up!! Sounds like a cracking game to watch.

It was a great match, Wivey, both sides played very well. I'm looking forward to the TNS match now.

Very lack luster performance by us. Think we would have took a point before the game though. Very suprised Herbie didnt start still think he will make a differance for us upfront. Macca scored a very good goal but that was all he done, he should be winning more headers than he does, he needs to just have a bit more bite about him like Herbert. Cook didnt do to bad but he is no way a striker, he drops off too much to pick the ball up.

No Herbert!!!!!!!!! he should be starting without a doubt after his performance at rhyl. I agree he will make that extra difference we need. i also agree cooke not a striker he is a winger.

Commitment and energy was generally very good again and I thought we we created more than in previous games but spoilt it by giving the ball away with some poor short passing and missing the easy ball, often ignoring the right wing... though ball was slippy and pitch fast. Faded in 2nd half and defence looked susceptible to crosses - was glad to hear final whistle. Welshpool always looked threatening upfront where they are strong but we didn't create enough pressure on their backs.

I thought we were very good against Welshpool. Yes we were undone by mistakes at the back - but we made many chances and scored three goals which is a great step in the right direction.

As for the critism of the striker selction - i disagree - Cookie was by far the most lively player on the field and by droppingh off and picking up the lose balls (which defenders hate becuase it pulls them out of their comfort zone) he was the perfect foil for Macca as a target man.

Herbert is a good player but he did nothing special when he came on and if you take one look at the table we are in a good position (one better than many of us expected 2 months ago) so why change what has been working - as the old cliche says - u have to earn ur right to start.

We all would have took a point before the game. but we should be playing kilgannon in the middle, he is our main play maker. Herbie should have had a chance, when he come on we didnt use him once. I also think White should have been on the wing. Petrie not good enough and caddy should really be used as sub at the moment. This would be my squad from recent performances...........

why waste our most creative player on the wing?

Also, while i happily admit Wes's passing is amonst the best in the club, against teams who have us on the back foot he often gets caught languishing on the ball.

I think JH had it spot on by putting him on the bench and utilising him as a second half substitute when due to fatigue gaps began to appear in both teams midfield.

JJ we know you are the founder of the Wes and Herbert fan club, but can you not see that Jones has been our best player in the midfield this season?

You have picked 2 reserves after 1 and a half games so far this season - melia and Petrie in my opinion are both improving. As for you front 2 I think there is only room for 1 of Maca or Herbert as they are the same type of player. Cook is different to them, as is White, as is Melia.

Rash is right - Wes is not fit enough yet and has been nowhere near as good when starting games. He will be, but not yet.

Plus we are leaking in far too many goals, a fact that seems to go unnoticed at times. Tighten up lads!

Saying that, some of the games and performances have been excellent, much more than anyone could expect. Jim and Andy have done a great job so far and I now come to games expecting us to win no matter who we play - lets not get carrid away with doom and gloom!

Im sorry, but who is this Johnny J who thinks he knows everything about football...If he's so good why isn't he the manager or even better why isn't he playing because every comment he makes he thinks he's better than the players we've got...why don't you ask jim JJ to go training with the lads and tell them face to face what they need to improve on....

And I really can't believe you picked 3 reserve player either...2/3 of the reserves are good in thier league they play in, thats because the standard is awful. Bobby was good against Wepre but then he played in the bangor game and they just ripped him apart, 2 out of the 3 goals where his fault not tracking his man and as for Sam, have you every watched him play its like watching a whale in goal...don't know if you didn't pick Roberts because he is out injured for 4 weeks or you got something against the lad. I use to train with Robbo 2-3 years ago and he was unstopable he got far more potential than any of the other keepers wev'e got, he just needs games to get his confidence back and Pritch is a disaster waiting to happen and we saw glimps of that on friday night.


Gambino's a good choice though...well deserves 1st team action.

be an interesting game tomorrow night, not only the actual game but also the team jim will put out, jim didn't seem to pleased with pritch on friday as I heard him ranting to our goalkeeping coach as I was making my way to the exit..maybe JJ you'll see Sam in first team action been as Robbo is out injured.

Im by no means Herbie and kilgannons fan club i just think they should be playing. As for the reserves i mentioned i think they will learn a lot from being involved in the squad and to be honest they are better than melia and petrie. If cooke is our most creative player how come i havent seen the boy set a goal up yet?????? He is a good player but just think he can cut inside and give us a bit more. Herbie and Macca upfront because we dont play to use the strengths of a fast player upfront look at when white and cooke have been upfront we dont get the defence turnin. so 2 big strong lads with 2 quick wingers might work a bit better, in my eyes. jj

AS MUCH AS I DONT WANT TO AGREE WITH JJ, I DO THINK HE HAS A POINT ABOUT STRIKERS AND WINGERS PLUS THE EXPERIANCE THEY CAN GET FROM BEING INVOLVED IN FIRST TEAM ACTION. WE WILL HAVE TO WATCH THESE BETTER LADS ON THE BENCH DONT GET SNAPPED UP BY SOMEONE ELSE.

jj you say that and then leave Petrie out altogether? White has not delivered yet and Cooke is not your 'fast winger'

And no response to Jones/ Kilgannon fitness I see? I agree with Dan H about the keeper though. He has made some good saves but I thought he was poor on Friday.

jj Im sure Jim and andy would welcome a team talk from tyou on Saturday on how to beat TNS!!!!
