True Nomads Supporters

JJ, Its time you start naming names about the players who would love to join the Nomads.

I have respect for, and very good personal relationships with most of last seasons Nomads squad, but when Nev left and it quickly became clear that most of them would follow him. This caused panic among the remaining players and both the players that followed Nev and the ones that have gone elsewhere, told me themselves that they thought Nomads were done for. Word got round the WPL circuit fast and Nobody wanted to play for us. It is no coincidence that most of our new players have been recruited from outside the WPL

What Jim Hackett has done so far, with a lot of help from Andy Lee, is nothing short of a miracle. Most of us realised before the season started, that survival in the WPL would be the main objective. Anything more would be icing on the cake.

If you are a true supporter, you would have noticed that the club is being rebuilt from the bottom up. From 6 yr olds, through the academy, a new Reserve team, a Women/Girls section and far greater access to participation and Club information through this Website than we have ever had before. We also have plans for a decent Stadium, purpose built for football on the drawing board. these thing take time.

As I have said before, we have assembled the best squad we could, in the short time available, and your suggestion that we could change half the squad over the next two days is totaly unrealistic. Please think before you post, try to be a bit more constuctive in your comments, and get behind the team.

Tin Tin, Please don't give up just yet, I know how you feel when you're the only one shouting and other supporters think you some sort of weirdo, and treat you like a leper. Personally, I have got over my embarrassment and I have become shameless. I outshouted the whole stand at Llanelli, in one game last season! I also know that the players really appreciate and respond to it and they are happy to chat with supporters that really support them, after the game.

No chance of you travelling down to Haverfordwest is there, maybe on the team coach where you can get to know the players personally. We could start a new trend in Nomads Passion by the tunnel. A Nomads chav at 60 - what a great idea. Are you up for it?

Deesider and Westender often give me good reports. Don't know if they would do it regularly - Any offers!

I go to most games Wivey, and I will try to give you some sort of report after each one if you want. I'm still getting used to writing, so apologies if some don't make that much sense!!!

Hi...thought the lads did ok myself, plenty of chances, knock the ball around, with some nice passing,...YES some bad performances BUT hey, we've all have bad days......8 points out of 12 .that will do for me. 34 GAMES TO GO if we pick the same points up, in those games we would of had a half decent season...Early days, so lets give all the new and old lads a chance......have are moans after Crimbo,.....when we need to no what we have to do by then............

This is the first time I have viewed the site, and I am disappointed to read some of the comments made by the likes of JJ. Comments as found above, smack of the archetypal football fan. Of course not everyone is blessed with great playing ability, or educated in coaching, tactics and other aspects of the game. Despite this, many individuals, and you all no them, believe that having watched ‘match of the day’ for 20 years, they are thus qualified to pass judgement on the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson. There is nothing more infuriating, for those involved in the semi/professional game to have to listen to such rants in the pub, in the stand or on a web page.

That said I have no doubt that such individuals are loyal, avid, passionate fans merely venting their frustration on this page. I can empathise with the feelings of such individuals, but I implore greater understanding.

As a semi-professional player myself, I can also empathise with the players and the management. Despite possible poor performances, the results have been going our way. Consequently, I believe it to be a good start to the season. The quality of football will come with time, it’s a squad with many new faces and it will take time for individuals to settle and the team to gel. During this transition period it is crucial that players get the fans support. Remember, some of these boys are young and may have stepped up to this level for the first time, they need to be encouraged and not lambasted for every mistake. With regard to individuals, trust the management, they are the UEFA A/B licensed coaches. They scouted the players, they see them in training, and they know their potential. Take Drogba as a case example; in his first season to the British press/public he was mince. Now, he is rated as one of the best strikers in the world, shows what we know.

Give them a chance guys.

I agree with Deesider, Doone, Wivey and Tin Tin. In addition, I know we are famous as a nation of moaners but we are also famous for some of the loudest most ferocious stadium atmospheres in the world, get behind your team guys.

Abo i think you have got the wrong website this is the welsh premier league not the english premier league. I mean how can you compare something like Drogba getting stick, to Chris Melia orCaddy getting stick. They a far from being a Drogba. Come on now. jj

Drogba (one of the best players in the world) plays in the English prem (one of the best leagues in the world), the nomads (lesser players) play in the welsh prem (a lesser league) It takes 10ml of water to fill a 10ml jug, 2ml of water to fill a 2ml jug.
Hence, whilst the standard of league and player may fall, a situation found at the higher end of the spectrum can be compared to that at the lower end.

The point was to illustrate that a player may appear at first to be a waste of time/money, but once settled, may turn out to be one of the best players in the league. As everyone was proved wrong about Drogba, so could be the case with some of the new nomads.

I just believe it is a bit early to condemn a man at this stage. Creative midfielders, strikers, wingers indeed all players thrive on confidence. A bit of encouragement and support might improve performance both individually and as a team?

Ok i see where your coming from dont worry. I know that im a bit of a moaner but all my problem is, is that we have got players on the bench that should be starting and there are players in the flint town team that are better than a few of our lads and there are lads in west cheshire football that are better too. Just think its worth a look thats all. jj

Lets just let jim pick the team. If we knew what we were doing any better then one of us would be manager, BUT WE ARE NOT, so let jim pick his side and lets get behind them week in week out. Come on you nomads.

we keep hearing about all these players who are better than what we've got at the moment and are dying to play for us,where were they 10 weeks ago,or are they just waiting to see what kind of start we make and then if things are going well,they'll come out of the woodwork and tell everybody how much they've always wanted to play for nomads,the lads in the squad have had the balls to stand up and be counted,if it was me,i'd seriously be thinking ,do i really need this ****,don't forget these lads have an option as well.

Totally agree with owain g comments. it's a fair bet that some of these players are having to play in positions that are not their natural one's but, are doing as the manager ask's. Because of the small size of the squad and as some people keep saying our lack of quality, some players may be playing when not fully fit. I think that any nomads supporter would have taken 8 points from the first 4 games as well. Keep going boys.
