To the above poster. I have no problem with the views expressed in your post, but please choose a proper log in name to identify yourself as the author of the post and stop putting other posters names in instead. You can address who ever you want in the body of the post.

If you persist in causing the confusion that you are, by posting in this manner, you will leave me with no alternative but to delete your posts.

Very sorry Wivey, I'm not use to replying on web sites, but do enjoy reading them. But when somebody who shows up on the scene who has'nt got a clue about whats happened in the last 14, if not more years of our club. just gets my back up. Neville Powell will go down in Connahs Quay folk law. When local clubs in the area such as Flint, Conwy, Mold Alex, Holywell have all had a massive downturn, Neville brought the Nomads through on a shoestring. He and the board have put Connahs Quay on the map in welsh football, as a team to be feared to play. I will support jim and the team in this new era, as i have always done. But will not stand back and let anybody badmouth Neville Powell. My only hope is Neville returns to us as manager one day, then Blean and his friends can put their case of Neville playing his team on favour and not merit to him personally.
but i fear by then blean and his friends my well have moved on.

PLAYING PLAYERS ON FAVOUR NOT MERIT " SHAME ON YOU" BLEAN....

Thanks Quayatheart, I don't want to lose any posters on this site anymore than I want Nomads to lose any fans. Welcome aboard and happy posting!

Thanks Wivey for clearing that up. Things were getting a bit confusing.

Quayatheart you have some fair points and Neville was a fantastic servant to the club over a long period of time, and I don't think this will ever be forgotten by anybody connected to the club. I'd like to think Neville would always be welcomed back when he visits with his CURRENT CLUB.

The fact is though, Neville has chosen a new path for his footballing future and Connah's Quay Nomads FC has to move forward regardless. There has been a number of dissapointing issues this summer but I think the majority of Quay supporters are trying to put these in the past and concentrate on the current manager and squad of players.

To whoever it is who persists in posting ad hominem attacks on me and wilfully mis-interpreting or simply misreading my messages - I have been watching Connah's Quay some seven years since I moved back to Deeside, I initiated a website for them then and have maintained one at my own expense and considerable time and effort since then. I have been going to matches as well as I can afford to in this time, if my not being ever present home and away in that time is a problem, it's yours and not mine. It is not what I would call being 'a flash in the pan' or 'just showing up on the scene' but if you want to, that's OK with me - it says more about you than it does about me.

I wouldn't criticize Nev powell or anyone else putting as much of their owmn time and effort into the club as he and others have whilst they were at the club. To do so once they have moved on, and not so much in retrospective critisism as in the actions attributed to them - namely the manner in which he was quoted last Tuesday - is a different matter. He may be sainted in some parts of Deeside but he is not The Pope and he is not above criticism, like anyone else, myself included as you have amply shown.

That some of the side last season persisted in passing to some players when others were better positioned drew some of those I go to the games with to wonder whether some of the players preferred to 'pass to their mates' - this isn't a Nomads phenomenon, it's a lazy option seen on parks all over the world, as I can testify first hand as I have watched football all over the world when I suppose someone with a parochial outlook such as yours would say I should have been at the Halfway.

This is my final comment on this subject on this website, although I have addressed the subject in general in greater depth elsewhere.

Tomorrow looks like being a good game. The players are raring to go and I think all fans, whether it will be their first game watching Nomads or their 10,000th, may be in for a treat.

In your posting above dated 22-07-07, at 11.52. was clearly a dig at Neville. It's a pity it's maybe at least 6 months to late, as you said there was some suspicion last season that players were being selected on the basis of favour rather than merit. Now you say some players preferred to 'pass to their mates' you are entitled to your opinion as does everyone who go to the game. My opinion of last season is that we played some great football, saw some great goals, found 2 gems in Bungle and Dicko (both still with us) finished 5th in the league, and just missed out on european football. So i will be putting it forward to Jim on Saturday that he picks his favourite 11, and tells them to only pass to the people they like. Then this season will be just as good as last season. Thanks to Flint for being fantastic hosts last season, its only a pity we could not ground share as college ground does'nt really do it for me. I will disappear back into the background now. as for Neville not being the pope your spot on, more of a god if you ask me. Good luck tomorrow lads.

THE END...............
