Deesider, I agree with what you have said about Bungles ability and I also think that he will surely make it as Professional, if he applies himself. I don't follow your logic that he won't play for Nomads again, though.

If Bangor can't afford Chris, nobody else will cough up, unless they see him in action first. He's hardly likely to sit around all season sulking until his contract runs out, he's a much bigger man than that. Under these circumstances, I think he's quite likely to say sod it, pull on a Nomads shirt, play out of his skin for half a season, and then attract the sort of attention he deserves from clubs much bigger than Bangor.

Who knows, if he made his mind up soon enough, even Tommy Mutton might join him and sign on. personally, I always live in hope and never say never until a deal is done.

I hope your right, Wivey. It would be great to see both of those players in a Nomads shirt next season and as you're saying, I have no doubt that Chris, would give 100% for the cause if that senario was to happen.
I was under the impression though that talks with Bangor were on going and knowing how much Nev rates Bungle, I would have thought Bangor would pull all the stops out to get him. However, I totally agree with your sentiments, I think Bungle would be better served staying at the Nomads next season and getting himself a move to a better club.

I do feel a bit sorry for you Nomads fans. You'd pieced together your best side in years, came quite close to qualifying for Europe, fan numbers were rising even though you were playing in Flint and then your manager leaves and takes half the side with him to a club that finished 4 places below you.

Maybe Nev can turn things round at Bangor but i fail to see that taking half of Nomads with him is going to turn them into a championship challenging side, especially when Nomads 3 best players from last season, Dickinson, Garside and Bungle haven't gone.

BVB- 12 months ago I would have agreed with you about Timmy Edwards being better than Bungle in the air, but last season when the two came up against each other, Bungle was clearly beating Edwards in their airal challenges.
Last night, against Wrexham, Bungle was again quality and if anything seems to have improved, surely it's only a matter of time before a bigger club comes in for him?

As a neutral, 2 seasons ago when I saw Bungle I thought he was poor but i think he was playing as a midfielder then.

No question last season he was a much improved player and a good WPL centre half. I'd say he's still got a way to go if he's to become a football league player though. I wouldn't say he was at the level that Steve Evans was before he left TNS

That's probably a fair comment, at the time Evans was head and shoulders above every other defender in the league, with the exception of Edwards.
I never thought Evans would make it in the league due to his age and lack of pace, but i was proven wrong.
As for players who could make the step up now from the LOW, I don't think there are a great deal, I've obviously stated, Bungles case and I'm also a fan of, Wilde from TNS. I think he's a player with a lot of potential but he's had a lot of problems with injuries.
Kaid Mohammed, has been another player who has impressed me over the last few years. He is currently on trial with Wrexham but I'm not sure he's got the consistency needed to become a league player.
As for Murtagh, I don't think he imposes himself enough on the game to make it as a league player. What do you Rhyl guys think?

Bungle, did play a few games at left-back and actually played there last season for a spell, too. When I first saw him play for Flint, that's where he was playing. So maybe that was his posistion.

I think Conell will make it. He grew as last season went on and by the end of it was our best player.

I'm certain Lee Hunt could manage at league 2 level as would Rhys Griffiths of Llanelli and the now departed Mignorance.

Not sure Wilde's got enough in his game, he's a little one dimensional and not a great finisher. John Leah was outstanding for them last season so I'd back him to succeed at a higher level
