True Nomads Supporters

Any news on how training went, or who was there, who do we have left. Hope there's some good news.

Popped in 2 see who was there ,,,,,,,,about 20 players there ..a lot of new faces......some of the old players were there from last year....not many tho........

That wasn't the goods news I was hoping for. How many old faces, and are any more likely to appear in the near future. Go on cheer me up. Did the new faces look the part, I'm getting a little depressed here. I'll go and continue my prayers you nver know||||||||||||||

Moleneaux's signed non contract terms at Rhyl

See the news items on the front page for the latest on training and signings. Gary Pinch, Chris Melia and Adan Hitchen have re-signed. which is good news. Jim Hacket said there's more to come. Also Gary lovell turned up for the second training session last night and made a good impression. What with the new Assistant Managers appointment bringing his excellent contacts in the NW Counties League into play, I reckon we are on the way to building a decent new squad for next season.

Shame about Phil Molynuex signing for Rhyl though, he was a battler and with his long throws he was a good squad member. Under new management with new ideas I think he might have developed his game and scored a few more goals.

My guess is that Molly will be back. His natural position is in midfield, battling for the ball - in my view.

Molyneux looked quite promising in the games I saw last season, but moving to Rhyl is a bit mindless.

The Daily Post reported that Calvin Davies was told by Hulse that he couldnt guarantee him a game (who does he make that promise to?) because he already had Cameron, Hunt, Moran and Sharp.

Cant see Molyneux getting in ahead of them either.

Hope he comes back to you.

I can only think that their was a little more money on offer at Rhyl
Because from a footballing point its little bit strange knowing
the forward players that Rhyl have.
Molly spent his time in and out of the team last season.
His pace and strength and quick feet are his best assets and under
a new manager had a great chance to state his case for regular
first team football at the Nomads.
Moving to Rhyl may shorten those options even more
OK he may prove us all wrong but being honest i think He's made
the wrong move and may spend more if not most of his time sitting on the bench at Bell Vue.

Unless he really shines pre season I think he'll spend most of his time in the reserves.

How can he have come for more money. He's on non contract terms so if he doesn't play he won't get paid anything. By all accounts he asked to come training at Rhyl and when he was told he wouldn't be offered contract terms he still wanted to stay and prove himself.

I guess that's what happens when you've got the best support, best ground and nearly the best team in the league

craigybot, I think your right that Molyneux is not coming to you because of money, but because of the Glamour of being associated with Rhyl for all the reasons you gave. But westender is also right, because he wont get many games with you, whereas if he stayed here he'd have a good chance of a contract, a regular start, some quality coaching and a better chance to really improve his game.

All that glitters, is not Gold !

I also think blaen is probably right, he loves his fooball and when realises he can't get enough of it with Rhyl, he'll be back.

If that's the case then fair play to Molly if he's gone their to prove
himself on a don't play no pay.
I hope it works out for him there but i still think it would of good to
see if under the new management system he could of establish
himself as a first team regular at the Nomads.
Anyway best of luck Molly hope it works out for you.

I too wish Phil all the best however it pans out. I stand by my earlier suggestion that he would be well placed in midfield but whatever happens, I'm sure we all agree that he seemed a likeable lad in his time (so far) at Nomads.

Yes good luck to Phily......IMO.....think its the wrong move..... 17 at training this morning i,ve been told........Gary Lovell not there ......whisper is, no1 has been signed yet.........is this true wivey or blean?... think we need to get players on the books quickly......

It'll only be the wrong move if he's not good enough.

Don't think Murtagh and Horan would consider they made the wrong move

Doone I have copied these sories from the front page for you. As well as the players named below, Adam Dickinson and Chris Williams are still on contracts with us.

NEW Connah's Quay manager Jim Hackett has moved quickly to replace goalkeeper Paul Smith, who has followed former boss Neville Powell to Bangor City.
Nomads have signed former Wrexham trainee Daniel Evans, a 22-year-old who was placed on standby for the Wales Under-19 squad in 2004.
Evans has previously appeared in the Welsh Premier for Bangor City, making five appearances in 2003/4 on loan from The Racecourse to deputise for Phil Priestley.

JIM HACKET SIGNED 3 MORE PLAYERS AFTER TRAINING YESTERDAY:- Stewart Cooke, Stewart White and Kevin Garland all signed forms on Saturday. Asst Manager Andy Lee, attended his first training session yesterday and his introduction was well received. >
Training went well, with a few new faces turning up. Jim is hoping that he'll be signing a couple of them in the next week or so. There will be more players signing during this week and Jim will let us know as soon as they've put pen to paper.

NOMADS SIGN THREE MORE - TRAINING GROUND NEWS

PRE-SEASON TRAINING STARTED ON SATURDAY AND DUE TO POOR WEATHER, TRAINING TOOK PLACE AT DEESIDE COLLEGE:- 17 players attended. From last seasons squad, Gary Pinch, Chris Melia, Adam Hitchin, Stuart Cooke and Phil Molyneux attended.

Chris Williams, Gary Lovell and Graham Roach had to work. Apart from those, the remainder of last seasons squad have made alternative arrangements. The rest of the players training were new players that had been invited.

The training day itself was very good, the players were worked hard throughout the day and their attitude was first class. They were introduced to elements of work that they would not have seen before and embraced the ideas put forward without hesitation. Jim was extremely pleased with the effort put in throughout the day by all the players that attended.

At the end of the training, Gary Pinch, Adam Hitchin and Chris Melia signed new contracts for the coming season and Jim plans to sign further players as the week progresses.

Now on the front page under Managers News Update:-

Paul Forester - Goalkeeper who was with Congleton Town last season

Richard Roberts - Goalkeeper who is just coming back from ACL injury and will provide great cover once fit to play and push Dan and Foz very hard. Richard was with Vauxhall Motors last season up until his injury.

We have also recruited Grenville Millington as our goalkeeping coach. Grenville is a goalkeeping legend in the Deeside area, so it's a great acquisition for the backroom staff.

Jim Hacket said ''Another member of staff who has been working with the players since the beginning of pre season is a speed and agility coach, John Roberts. I have worked with John for the past three seasons at Chester City and the work he does with regard to players speed, agility and balance is first class. For some reason Chester City decided that John didn't fit into their plans and I can only say that their loss is our gain. I'm sure if you were to ask the players that have worked with John since the beginning of pre season, they will tell you what a bonus it is having him to work with them. John also works with players involved in the professional game as well as our players, and his enthusiasm is guaranteed to rub off on the players he's working with''.
