True Nomads Supporters

Murrymint,I agree with a lot of what you are saying about the players that have left or may go and they are undoubtedly good players, but its about dealing with the current situation. The season before last that we both referred to, we were way adrift at Christmas with about 4 points. We ended the season in relative safety with string of results that were top 5 form, including 6 games unbeaten at the end and a 1-0 home victory over Llanelli (which is more than we could manage this season!!). Furthermore we did that without Limbert, Dickinson, Sergeant, Garside, Lovell, Swanick etc. Managers or players aren't indispensable or irreplaceable.

I still think that a defence of Lovell, Pinch, Wiliams and Jellico + the new keeper, will be as good as any in the WPL and all good teams start at the back. Pinch was a sub for the first part of last season but improved so much, that Jellico could not oust him when he arrived. Cookie is in the same improving mould. If some of the others are persuaded to stay then great!

As for 2yr contracts, Nev thought our best and most valuable players last season were Bungle and Dicko, That's why he persuaded the Chairman invest his money to put them on 2 yr contracts. So where's Nev loyalty to them, because he knows that Bangor can't afford them. The net result is that Dicko shoves of to Oz without discussing it with the club and probably without even realising he can't sign for anyone else without a transfer fee. Chris probably wants to jump ship to Bangor with the rest of them. So he can refuse to play for Nomads but the Chairman is entitled to hold his registration for the next 12 months and.......................Now what???

Should the Chairman have trusted Nev by investing in the first 2 yr contracts that this club has ever given?, Should Chris and Dicko have trusted Nev and signed it? - So much for loyalty. We have to get real - try to persuade the players to stay and play and replace them as best we can if they won't.

We have been fans long enough to know the ups and downs, its time to think and be positive.

Hi Wivey - and all.....most comments are spot on,...but if there was so few players, at the players meeting the other night, surley Jim could of had a chat there and then to seal there sig,....for them to turn up must of ment some commitment, and as for people saying good to see the likes of Phil Molyneax go........have a very short memory without the likes of him, along with C Murtagh,... G O,toolE... G Pinch....B Heath and even T Cann.........(even Morgs who singed a couple of weeks be4) and more..these players signed when the team were 10 points adrift at the bottom of the league in november 2005/2006 season and played a big part in keeping the team up.......so plezzz dont slag players down, who have helped the club in a big way......weather you think there good or not,........ i no you can have Your opinion...but hey give them some thx..........

If Chris Melia is willing to stay, he will be very welcome. He did not have enough playing time to show his ability last season and I know his past scoring record is very good. Lets hope he comes back for next season to show what he can really do.

Doone I absolutly agree that we shouldn't slag off any of our past players, Regardless of their level of ability they all gave 100% and thats all we can ask

I agree, I think Garside will start most of the games next season. I watched him 3or 4 times for you last season and though a little overweight he looks a good player. And with Conall moving to Wrexham even if we bring in another midfielder I think he'll get his chance.

As for not bettering himself, c'mon wivey. He'll be playing for the club thats finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 2nd in the past 4 seasons, at the best ground and best supported club in the league and in Europe. How can that not be bettering himself.

As for Molyeneux, from what I believe he asked Rhyl if he could come down and train, he's not been signed yet and in all honesty if he came I don't see where he fits in.

I was just wondering if anyone has heard rumours about Jim Hackett linking back up with a number of players he has previously worked with.

Mainly from his time with the wales u19 schools squad and welsh premier league U19. I was in town last night and heard apart from stewy white, mike walsh from bangor and matthew phillips who used to play for you could possibly be signing, but they both were at chester city aswell as the wales squads with him.

Not to sure if it is just chit chat or not?? but if he is taking in these types of players will they cope without the experience maybe needed??

marrymit........LIMBO was a good singing , and did well be4 crimbo......but in my opinion, he lost his way and some of that bite he had, after winning player of the month.....he had faded slightly.....(would,nt say they were nasty.)......take it you dont like Philly Moll........as a footballer......

I said at the start of last season that Nomads were playing the best football I had seen from them since the start of the league and having seen seven of your games last season I can understand the disappointment you must feel in losing Nev and the consequent turmoil and uncertainty with players.
It is inevitable when a manger comes in and given our list of managers over recent years I can appreciate your position - the sooner the real position is known the better. Of course we welcome any players Nev chooses to bring in regardless of where they are from but there will also be some disappointment for us if it is true that the likes of Mike Walsh is to leave. He is as good as anybody who may come in and will be a quality signing for you.
Nev has been brilliant for Nomads over the years and there are those of us who have wanted him to return to Bangor for some years but he remained loyal to you, gave it his best shot last season and perhaps felt it was time for a change. I started watching Nomads some years ago when I couldn't go to some City away games and have averaged about four or five games a season all because of Nev and the respect I have for someone who was a true legend at Bangor.
I'm sure Nev has a better understanding of the position at Bangor than craigboy and knows what to expect. After ten years of struggling the club has no debts, a move to a new ground with the benefits a clubhouse can bring to the club, a solid supporters association who can consistently provide financial support and now a manager who commands significant respect - there is a buz about the place that has been sadly lacking for some years.
But rather than dwell on what may be lost it appears you have some cause for optimism in the quality of the coach that has come in and although it may take a while for things to settle I dont see why it should be all doom and gloom.
I genuinely hope that Nomads do well next season and hope we can meet up with a few of you for a friendly pint after our games.

Dek, thanks for your post and I agree whole-heartedly with the sentiments you have expressed.

Molyneux is exactly the kind of player who can improve under modern coaching. As for Limbo, he was my choice as the player of the season last year because of his consistency and encouragement to others. There were other strong contenders, mind.

I second that motion for a pint after the Bangor game! When are the fixtures out?
